    NECA love (Pic Heavy)

    Hey guys.
Thought id pay a little homage to the NECA guys. Their Freddy and Jason kinda got looked over during the whole FTC fiasco.
i sat down and tried to take some good pictures showcasing their detail and craftsmanship.
These figures are perfect. Quality and detail is what makes these guys stand out from competitors. These are, in my eyes, on par with the EMCE monster line. Needless to say, they didn't break within five minutes of handling either. Even though I'm a hardcore Friday the 13th fan, i will admit Freddy is the better of the two. Detail and paint apps are incredible. From a burnt ear all the way to skin showing through a worn glove, this figure gets an A++.
His clothing, just like Jason's too, are interchangable to Mego bodies. His hands come off and pivot just like Mego hands. Also, i haven't tried it yet, but id also say the feet are interchangeable also (simply because the shoe feet also have similar ankle pins like Mego feet). The only item that isn't compatible with a Mego body is the head. The head is fashioned on like a Hot Toys head or Famous Covers.

The body isn't completely singed either (oh well, who would look underneath anyway), but the burns do go down his neck and onto this upper torso which is really nice IMO.

His claw hands. His blades are made out of rubber so that they wouldn't break easily which is a very good move. As you can see, one of his blades is bent, That can be fixed very easily. Note all the "metal" working in the glove, AWESOME detail

    now Jason.
Jason is a BRUTE. Just the stance this guy has is scary.

note the veins and skin folds in his hand sculpt.

he also comes with a cool array of weapons ranging from his lovely axe, a speargun, and his classic machete.

His mask is removable. Sadly, my Jason had a paint rub on his forehead, but you can barely tell in person and in these pictures.

Needless to say, these two figures blend in well with the EMCE line.

If the EMCE line doesn't get revived, don't worry. I predict very good things will come from the NECA guys. I have been in awe of these figures ever since their release. I can only see a brighter future from these guys.

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for looking.
    -Sean

I'll admit I really like them. But I made a personal decision not to collect "slasher/murderer" figures (other than classic monster) a few years back. Otherwise I'd be all over them. My 10 year old self would have had a field day with these. I used to use my gi Joe BBQ as Jason.

I keep checking TRU but I haven't found them yet. Maybe I'll have to order them...

thanks for the review, great to hear from the Next Gen of Mego Collector in terms of their preferences!

Hopefully we can get more folks interested in the format with this contemporary interpretation of an 8 inch cloth outfit figure.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Anxiously awaiting their Ash though.

Nice pics! Are those heads made of the same vinyl/rubber material like the Retro-Megos?

Heads are resin heads, it seems. Solid, not rotocast (squishy/rubbery). I really dig these figures. I have the first wave and plan to get the next waves. The only thing about them that i would have preferred, is that the heads & bodies to be compatible with the other Mego style figures out there. Other than that, these figs are tip top...
