    Paying it forward mego style

Heres a story I want to share with all of you lovers of megos......

I am a manager in a grocery store and had missed some time this fall due to an unexpected illness. I'm doing much better now. I have an associate who works for us on the front end who gets carts and bags, etc. He was part of an outreach program that helps develop folks to be prepared in the workplace. After some jobs that he didn't fit in or wasn't excepted for whatever reason, he was able to get a job with us. He has done an outstanding job for us and is a pleasure to have in my store.
He wound up being selected our associate of the month and eventually was selected our associate of the year. This kid, (he's 26) is just a great guy. He probably works 20 to 25 hours a week. He would ask me or say to me evry time he he worked for like 2 weeks after I returned to work, how are you feeling Mark, or do you feel better Mark. This was very touching and and made me feel good that he would show any concern for the "boss"

The other day we were talking and he told me he had bought some comics for himself. That day I had just received in the mail a T1 Captain America I bought for myself. I happen to take a pic of it in my car to show another friend. So I said to him, I didn't know you liked comics Dan , would you like to see what I bought myself for Christmas? So I show him the pic of Cap and to my amazement he says, is that a mego? I said why yes it is, how would you know that? So he says he watches The Toy Hunter and says he really likes them. He starts asking if I have shazam and iron man. I proudly tell him I have them all, maybe over 100 figures.

I was so blown away and overly impressed of his knowledge of mego, it got me thinking. So later that day I decided to dig through my figures and give him some as a Christmas present. Mind you I never give any associates besides my department managers gifts, but felt so excited to give this to him. So I was able to part with a beater Robin that had a repro belt and no gloves and I added a custom Red Skull in a box that I made myself. Today I gave him this gift and I couldn't describe the feeling of joy I got when he was over joyed by the megos he just got as a Christmas present. He got a one of a kind custom and a Robin. Man that was special.........

Sorry to make this so long, but just wanted to share.
So to all my fellow mego friends, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas

Wonderful story. Giving to another person, just to give, is fantastic and we need more of that in the world. Kudos!

Also, sorry you were ill and glad you are doing better.
          It's all good!

That's cool. Timing didn't work out for Christmas but I am planning something in that vein for someone that works in my dept. He's the same age as me and obviously loves Megos whenever I show him pics, but financially he can't afford to collect.

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Thanks for all the kind words. The cool thing is now I can talk megos at work with Dan. As a matter of fact I had a follow up with him today. He said two things that stuck with me. One was that his brother asked him where he got them, that they were worth a lot of money. He told his brother he would never sell them, he will keep them forever. I was like right on!
Secondly he says he wish he had a Captain America to battle his Red Skull.......lol

So if anybody has a beater Cap they want to part with........pm me
