Elastic belt material

I want to make a close copy of Robin's elastic belt. I have the metal buckle and want to get elastic band that looks like what Mego had (Doc Mego's elastic belt is a but too thin)

It's weird because I used to have stuff that looked right, even used it for a belt. But I can't find it now. It can be white and I can fabric paint it yellow.

So, does anyone have any elastic belt material or a way to get some?

You can get it at a fabric store. Walmart may have it. I got mine from Michaels. I actually used it to restring my mego. It comes in a few different widths. Looks like this....
