at the Silver Snail. Arguably the best stocked place in Toronto for modern Mego currently.

WOW! That is amazing! I've never seen a store stock that much eight-inch goodness since the 70's! All these items and no shipping involved. Incredible. Of course you guys get such a raw deal on shipping from the states, it's good to see one scenario play out in your favor. About time.

I went into a Toy store a couple of towns over today to pick up my niece some Adventure Time figures and they had the GhostBusters figures, and the retro Batman figures. I wanted to get a couple of the Batman figures (I already have the GB guys they had, and I want to get the 60s figures instead) but I had already spent too much money. Nice to see them in the store. They carried the EMCE Star Trek figures when they came out. Cute girl that works there was telling me all about Captain Planet from the 1st issue comic she has at home that she read the night before. Classic (which the cartoon was not, IMHO).
My local comic shop has some of the Happy Days figures, and the Universal Monsters and they had Lilly Munster as well.
I would have thought it better to have all the Mego-like stuff together? I find them being beside the highly detailed figures takes away from them. I don't know, maybe that is just me?

The only problem with the Snail is they have a prime down town location, so the rent is reflected in their prices. Still love the shop but I prefer to buy this stuff at Big B or one of the Planet X stores in the sticks.

None of the stores around here sell any of this stuff. boooo.

That makes my inner child very happy. Looks like the basement of Ben Franklin's, circa 1978.

Yeah, add onto the crazy parking $$$ that you have to pay at the Snail's new location of Yonge and Dundas!
Although to be fair, their prices aren't that bad (Still cheaper than having it shipped as MIB41 says!). Borg and Universal Monsters were $20. The CTVT cases around $60. Batman Retro on par at $30. Doctor Who I've noticed an interesting trend, they will price the Doctor himself higher $30, but keep the others lower, $20-$25 depending on demand. Dalek is $30. so are Freddy and Jason.

Planet X unfortunately is not ordering as many Retro's these days, and unless you jump on them right away you might have the person working there calling across 3 different suburban locations in Richmond Hill, Scarborough and East York to get all of them. I ran over to the Scarborough location to get Tom Baker when he first came out, but they only had Sontarans left, so they sent me to Richmond Hill. Similar situation with Universal Creature and Six Million Dollar Man Steve Austin. They have plenty of Brides and Bigfoot of course.

I too want everyone to support Big B in Hamilton in the upcoming months, for selfish reasons of course.

Silver Snail, d'oh, I knew there was somewhere else I was hoping to stop at the last time I was in Toronto. I haven't been to their new location yet. Next time!

I keep forgetting there is a Big B in Niagara Falls, I'll have to stop there...

Big B is my go to whenever I am in Hamilton visiting.

But I might have to stop at the Snail on the way as I need the Dalek , Freddy and Jason. Been holding off order them online to the point that now the Dalek is out of stock.

I am the only reseller of remegos in my home town and I run a computer shop ... sad.

That is pretty cool. Awesome seeing all of those bright colored card backs next to each other. Does make me happy in a 70s toy store way.
                      It's all good!

Great pics. I only vaguely recall seeing displays like this as a kid. (though I see them in dreams sometimes )

There is also a Big B in Barrie now, I didn't have time to check it out when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

Here's Big B Hamilton from back in the summer...

Been to Big B in Barrie, it's alright.

Speaking of Barrie, there is a new store called Comicazi, it's owned by a former co worker of mine.
