Budget would be the key word for me. It just's the amount of collecting money I've been able to put aside when the figure comes along.

I barely crossed over $100 once for a mint Isis figure. Otherwise, I've never spent more than $81. I'm trying a different approach now and just saving money until I see something I want. I'm at a place where I may want some more expensive figures or vehicles, so this is the only way to justify that to myself. I'm still hoping not to cross $200, though.

After consulting with my finacial adviser(aka; The Wife) I have been informed my spending allowance is calculated to be about $25-$50 If I can sell it.
This would explain why most of my collection is made up of Trek figures and customs I have made.

It depends on my other expenses and cash flow. I don't collect carded figures, and I will accept repros when I have to. I know that once I get all the basic WGSH figures and start working on Alter Egos, vehicles, and more "special" pieces, I'm going to have to start saving longer to get what I want. Since the question asks for an average, I'll say $50, because that's the number that immediately comes to mind, and I know that's about what I've paid for one of my more treasured pieces, a complete Iron Man. He's not pristine, but he looks good and made a nice addition to my Mego shelf.

Wow I hope I can afford to have a budget like you guys when I grow up! I am a 20 or 30 dollar guy but on one or two occasions I have spent up to 50 with shipping. But I like buying junk ones and rebuilding up with spare parts or repos, it's fun!

This is something I really struggle with. In recent years, the most I have spent on a single figure is $150. But the average is lower, more like $75-$100.

When I was collecting in the late 90s, I spent more. Now with a house and other responsibilities, its harder for me to justify.

It depends. Whatever is in my paypal account is my max budget at a given time. Paypal is where I keep all my play money. If I sell a figure or painted head, the cash usually just sits there. Sometimes it get's blown a little at a time, and sometimes I manage to save up a good little chunk I can blow on a grail piece without feeling guilty about it.

Well, I try to stick to a max of $100 for a figure. Most I've paid for a mego is $70 and that was Supergirl (missing emblem and shoes) and also a complete Wonder Woman was about the same price.

I paid $95 for a vintage Star Wars EV-9D9 that was on a damage card... I took her off since those arms are so hard to find mint on loose ones.

I just broke the $100 on a Kenner Indiana Jones figure, I paid a grand total of $135 for a loose mint complete with both original gun and whip. I figured after this new Indy movie comes out in May and this figure being htf in good shape as it is now ... along with how often the thumbs are broken and how getting both original gun and whip are ... I justify the extra I paid for him

most of the time I find if I wait things out, I can get a lot of stuff for around $40 and less

i'm a low budget collector so i'd have to say about $100. and then pay for it later from my wife.

it all depends on how much i want the figure and if the price is worth it. kind of subjective... buy now worry about it later is what i always say

The most I spent on a single loose figure was $500 for a mint Rommie (when they used to go for that much), and an AHI Creature for the same price.

I did say $300 for a max figure...but $75-$100 seems to be a more accurate average for me.
