A bit of Mego history I came across by accident

Well sort of. I was going through some old boxes and found this unassuming piece of Disney World merchandise I received back in 1973 during my one and only visit. Magic mountain was just in the process of being built, if that gives you some perspective. But as a kid I was in the habit of storing items of importance...One reason why I always loved my Mego boxes. But I saw this and decided I needed to unzip it to see if I had stored something in it as a kid.

    Here's the little case...

When I opened it, I saw an old piece of paper folded up inside.

When I unfolded it, I about gasped. I completely remember doing this after all these years. As a kid I always loved the artwork for Mego's, even when they were advertised in newspapers. Well I remember seeing this ad and it showcased Batman and Robin on Kresge cards. I thought the illustration was good enough to keep so I folded it up and hid it away...until today. I want to say this was an ad from Roses department store. I think... But I thought this was a pretty cool piece of Mego history tucked away in my basement. Thought I would share.

Wow, what a blast from the past! It just goes to show, that for most of us here, that collecting mentality runs WAY deep. Thanks for sharing Tom!

        And the artwork IS nice!

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Not just a piece of Mego history, but a piece of your childhood preserved "as is". Can't beat that.
