my astro mego apes update :)

hi all

I thought id put this thread here as not everyone bothers look in the mego like section and I wanted to get it seen to share a bit of my excitment


I originally got hold of 3 astro ape outfits and heads only in a joblot... none had boots but clothing were pretty decent to say the least.. heads were decent aswell... as I couldn't bare to look at loose bits n bobs I fitted them out on mego bodys shown on the old thread I made below

since this ive managed to upgrade pretty well... upgrade on some heads where I could I got very nice ape warrior full figure and armetius full figure also I managed to upgrade zorma body/ to astro body and all are original now apart from myra shes still on a mego body so that's my last one to complete..also all boots original too

getting the weapons im sort of gonna right off as I think they will be mega tough to find...heres my upgraded Astros below not sure who I think my favourite is ??? mmmm if anyone can help with a body please let me know thanks

Congrats! So cool you were able to piece them (almost) together! They really are striking together as a group in contrast to other Apes.

As a completist [sic], the Astros have been the most difficult set for me... with all the wacky vinyl variations and near impossibility of finding ray guns, gahhh! A couple years ago there was photo floating about the net of a bagged Myra with a little (yellow?) box or briefcase inside. Anyone have that pic?... one of the great Ape mysteries, what (if anything) is inside of the box?!?

Now that I (think I) have all of the Tong (head) variants, these (and a few other damn unicorns) have been my on-going chase. It doesn't give me much hope knowing you're in the UK and have had difficulty finding them either. At least with the Tong Apes I learned they were far more common in Australia, although the variants are still largely undocumented.

yes I have one tong ape would like to get the others....

the Astros seem really hard to come by.... also the plastic on these seems to go very brittle and break easy ...on at least most of the examples ive seen... I do remember the bagged myra u mention maybe a google image seach may find it

I Would love to own these some day. My favorites are Myra and the guy with the glasses! cool touches such as the flower and the glasses really make them.
