Indeed a weird but enjoyable show! Was great to see so many Megomuseum folks there. I won the location lottery this time and got situated next to the Megomasters(that Cyclops and Brian's stuff, as per usual, were awesome to behold)! Looking forward to future shows! No exclusives and no chase figures, please - I'm Canadian!Comment

It was good talking to you guys yesterday! Thanks for showing and telling us about the upcoming new exclusives, very awesome idea and I already got a space set aside for them on the custom mego shelf! Looking forward to mego meet north in January as well! I figure with all of us looking out for one another nobody will have their cookies stolen!Comment

Toy show first: some guy selling porn VHS tapes "under the counter" (although nothing to get too excited about, they were back from the dark days when Ontario censored it's porn).Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Is that where Cinemax gets all of theirs from?Comment

Yup. Cookie Thief aside... definitely a Weird Day... and this is coming from the guy who was immersed in Cosplay and geekery all weekend at the Doctor Who convention and Fan Fiction events as well. I'm just thinking they might want to discourage a scary lookin' guy loudly stalking every aisle brandishing a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, since it is supposed to be a family friendly show and there are really young kids there.
Although I do applaud the folks running the show for trying out different things, like cosplay contests, gaming and adding a horror section. The collectible toys and comic shows are starting to get over-saturated and fiercely, even aggressively competitive. I did one every weekend for the month of October, and looking at the January schedules... there are weekends with competing Toy shows within an hour's drive of each other on at least a couple of days.
The Free Classic video games was a welcome addition to the last few shows though.
With that said, this still our favourite toy show out of the bunch and the one that we all choose to participate in as vendors. It will be really interesting to see how all this shakes out in the next year, particularly since they are taking on the "new" Fan Expo/Hobby Star juggernaut, by staging the GTA Comic Con in April (where we will likely be debuting our 2nd Mego Style custom exclusive with them).Last edited by samurainoir; Nov 5, '13, 1:05 AM.Comment
