    Bif Bang Pow unleashes Dexter

BifBangPow! gave everyone a little scare today by setting an 8″ Dexter Morgan on an unsuspecting Mego community. The Joker better start looking over his shoulder…. Eight inch Dexter comes with his trusty blade and is already available for pre-order at EE.

With the show ending shortly does this not seem ill timed?

Not neccessarily. You can get folks who're still basking in the afterglow an jonesing for a fix.

would have thought so for the LOST line as well but that did not sell so well with the show having ended. which was too bad as it was a great looking line. I bought 2 of each

I think the character of Dexter has more traction than Lost.

I have never watched the show. are there any other characters that would be doable with the line or is it a one off like the Dude or Scott IAN?

I could see that. Everybody hated the end of Lost, and a llot of fans had started wandering away a few seasons prior so there wasn't much warmth left after the end. Dexter might not suffer from this.... depending on the ending.

I won't waste my time defending Lost, but as a fan of Dexter since season one I think the show has been tiresome for the last several seasons and the final season can't end soon enough.

But it's still a good character worthy of a figure, but the final season has very little buzz.

BBP planned Dexter 8 inch figures several years ago but apparently didn't get the green light until now.

Perhaps they are shooting for a little synergy with the upcoming Freddie and Jason 8" figures?

It does have the advantage over Lost that there aren't 12 characters to try to sell, and the audience has proven to have some interest in action figures. Losties weren't the action figure type for the most part. Bobbleheads were popular. If BBP had been allowed to do some of the kind of things they've done with Dr Who like journals and lunch boxes it might have been different.

Personally if Lost was handled correctly I could have seen more long term play value with the cast of Lost than a serial killer like Dexter but that's just me...

I'm not a fan of the show, personally I kind of loathe it. I just know that every figure made of Dexter has sold very well, which is not the case for other properties. So it's likely that this figure will be something of a decent seller.

Dexter has lost its legs these past couple of seasons, but I still like the show, have watched every single episode.

Last season was by far the worst, but this last season was better, but it's time to end the series.

As much as I liked Dexter, this upcoming figure doesn't have much appeal to me.

Having said that, with the exception of LaGuardia's indirect demise, everyone of Dexter's victims had it coming to them, including Sergeant Doakes, who was a very unlikeable jerk, lol.

This figure is expected to be released July 2014. I don't think the market will be there to make this successful 10 months after the show ended.

Mind you it is a single action figure of the main character. I know I might buy this fellow but I doubt I would get any others if more characters were released.
