Mike, I gotta admit I am drooling over those pictures you posted above. Where do you find all this stuff? lol. All I can ever find in my area are over priced pieces in antique stores. Never anything at 2nd hand stores or flea markets :-(

Short answer: my night job allows me to explore ebay when most normal folk are working (except that darn saucerful who scrolls his phone while teaching Shakespeare-Pox on him!)
And while a new baby keeps me from hitting garage sales this season, I have created flyers with pics to all my fellow picker buddies who do a decent job of bringing me scraps...
Befriending hoarders is not unlike courting not-of-age courtesans, years of politeness pays off when the bolt to their homestead opens and trust is established with the parental figures...
that crazy suitcase splashed with i buy mego pics helps more than you think...
paying fairly as a collector, not as a flipper, creates more opportunities among local mego owners...
Going early to everything and being first, whether it is flea market, estate sale, or Doll and teddy bear Show (this is tiring, though)
I have never found anything in thrift stores mego like either, capnmike

I am considering posting a craigslist ad inviting local customizers and vintage action figure enthusiasts to come to our mego eat from 10-12 ONLY, then asking anyone not a part of mego museum to leave so we may enjoy our meal in private and talk mego around noon. Obviously I would welcome sellers...and buyers and especially those who may have trades or showcase what they got, and as a result an occasional oddball or toy flipper will show. Who knows what may show up?
What does everyone think about a short public window for buy, sell, trades and ogle your custom work?
I will be full time security, but hey I know almost all the local toy pickers and collectors

Ok, with tacit approval from L and Dino I put a craigslist ad talking up our mego show and swap..But before everyone freaks out I made it clear it is from 10:30-12:30 then all the public toy enthusiasts must leave as it becomes a private event as we enjoy lunch..I'm trying to gauge local vintage toy interest while also keeping it a private lunch social for us, (And I'm experienced in drop-kicking people out of my restaurant)

I'm getting people asking if we will have vintage Gi Joe stuff or other non-mego stuff for show and swap. So if you got parts or such, bring it! Dear lord, we may make some money!

Monsoon rains, high level winds, an open call on craigslist for whatever toy freaks to show for morning portion...
I've got some joe enthusiasts coming and i sold what little i had on mm! Yikes!
At least there will be ten beers on tap and a good core group of guys here on the boards coming (if they don't get washed away in the floods!)
I definitely will be bringing a van load of mego and vintage figure stuff...
I never did get out all my personal pms to the pacific northwest mms. Next time.
