Javitz Show? I'll pass. If you are into a San Diego Con "Experience" then you are going to love the show...If you are a collector trying to find vintage comic and or toys at decent prices then I wish you guys luck. How much was it this year to get in? Anything more than $25 to get in is not worth it in my opinion. I've been to the show 3 times in the past and the last time it was about $40 to get in. Regretfully I paid it to get in. Should have learn from the 1st two times. If Michael Carbonaro does another show this year at the Hotel Pennsylvania, you definitely want to go to his show. Especially if you are looking for vintage back issues and toys. His shows are very affordable too. I think it was $10 or $12 to get in and I think kids to a certain age were free. Great if you have a family with you. Less "Experience" but definitely more substance.

Yeah NY was a let down last time. Been 3 times and just can't justify the cost versus the experience anymore.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Nevertheless, makes sure to have fun alterego! In my experience, when others opt out of an event for lack of affordable finds, it gives you a better chance for that Mego grab!
Craigslist you'll be there and buying mego, or wear an embarrassing plank or less obtrusive giant mego laden suitcase. Good luck!

I hope you find something...but I hate to burst your bubble. Mego figures will most definitely be overpriced. I don't know if anyone knows this but booths at this show are upwards of $2000 - $3000 or more. It's New York baby. The amount of $$$$$ you have to pull in a show like this to break even is upwards of about $10,000. I guarantee you that there will not be average priced megos there let alone any type of deal. I think the only dealers that make any money at these shows are the Art Dealers and the dealers that have half priced hardcovers. The Art guys sell 5 - 10 pages and they are good to go for the show. The half priced hardcover guys do sooooooo much quantity. Again, good luck and bring some food with you...the price inside for food is ridonculous.

Just remembered Toyman Chris is supposed to be doing this show. Hopefully he pops up here and can let you know where he will be at the show. Great guy to talk to and always has great deals. If I remember correctly he also has one badass set up that he will be putting together. Just picture a "House Of Toys".

I stick the smaller shows and will happily be attending the Clifton Comic Book Expo in NJ one again this Sunday. They usually have a few guys selling art but otherwise it's wall to wall back issues, no BS. That's the type of show I like.

One day I will get to that show Mike. That's the kind of show I have fun and enjoy. One of the reason's I wanted to make the trek to Baltimore this weekend but it just wasn't in the cards this year.

Berto is right. Not any good deals at all at the NYCC last time I went. I think I've bought 2 things in the last 2 times I went. A Mezzco Hellboy and the SDCC Stay Puft bank. Of course the NYCC was the glow in the dark version. As I was checking out I mentioned to the salesperson how I preferred the SDCC white version to the NYCC one. He made his way to the backroom and came out with a white one. They had so many left over they brought some as backups if they sold out. Bonus for me. Of course now they're everywhere.

I did just get notification that the RICC has sold out its vendor and artists spaces. Impressive since they expanded from 35,000sf to 100,000sf this year. Looking forward to seeing a couple of the 80's movie reunions.

New York Comicon tickets sold out before Labor Day. Like San Diego, NYCC is all about cosplay and the major players
debuting new products - it's not a good place for our narrow little hobby.

I did get a table to Eternal Con - also known as Long Island Comicon - and that was a fun show with lots of vintage
GI Joes and some megos. In 2014, it will be a two day show at the end of May. I am looking for MEGO people who
want to set up a special area for a New York Mego Meet.

Frank of Eternal Collector - the organizer of Eternal Con - is willing to give us a devoted space. Since a good number
of us from New York, New Jersey, Conneticut, Maryland, Massascheuts, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island trek to
Wheeling WV - I thought it would be a good idea to try out a location closer to us.

If you're interested, I will look into getting a block of hotels at a decent local hotel for those dates.

I might even be willing to have a dinner at my house on the Saturday night.

I went to the NYCC last year. people were packed in assess to elbows. you could not move in there. they sell way to many tickets for the size of the venue. to me that is just not fun. I did get to meet the good Doctor there though so that at least was cool.
my daughter is into Cosplay and is going again this year with a friend.

We will be setting up there next week. Everything that was said previously is true. Yes its packed, yes its expensive but hopefully we can counteract some of that. We sell at or below online prices and we are going to have tons of killer toys. Hope to see everyone there. Booth 2875.
