    Mego Star Trek for 1980

This new addition to the Mego Ad Archive from 1980 demonstrates just how much effort Mego Corp. put into merchandising Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Sadly the film's more adult themes didn't translate into toy sales with much of this line seeing little to no distribution in the United States.

Is that the Enterprise with the detachable saucer section? I'd love to have one.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

        Yes,
Dont confuse it with the Southbend Enterprise (which is a work of art in it's own right).....

This thing (pictured above) is crazy rare in the USA

Other than the bridge, how big were those ships (ie the enterprise). Did they open to put figures in?
          Looking for:

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember Brian or Rob saying the Enterprise was like 10-12-ish inches long.

Like Mike said, they're about 8" to 12" long depending on the ship. The Enterprise Saucer detaches and it has landing gear. The top of the Vulcan Shuttle comes off just as it did in the movie.

I recall my local Toys R Us and Child World still having Mego Enterprises gathering dust on the bottom shelves of the action figure aisle as late as 1983.

Too bad these aren't more available,
                  they'd make a great display.
