    RIP Jack Davis?

I am hearing the rumor that EC (And Greatest American Hero package) artist Jack Davis passed away. But cannot find any confirmation. Anybody else hear anything?

    I couldn't find anything.

I always loved his art work in the 70's but never knew who he was. His style was so recognizable. I had a particular fondness for his Slim Jim ads.

I hear now it was a rumor.

Anybody got his contact info? I wrote Al Feldstein a year ago and he wrote me back, and even signed a bookplate for my EC Archives.

I don't recall. But it sounds familiar.

No, no, that's Al Goldstein. Al Feldstein was the editor/writer (and sometimes artist) of many of the classic EC comics, and later Mad magazine.

I haven't heard anything about Jack Davis. Hope it's not true, there's not many of the EC artists left.

There's nothing on The Comics Journal site, or the IDW news blog yet. I'm pretty sure both would respond pretty quickly if that news was confirmed.

I hope he's doing okay, he's one of my favorite artists. He is 88 though...

My father is probably one of the biggest Jack Davis fans.

                      I love his style.

Our local newspaper boxes had subscription ads on the front of them with his art.

Was Jack Davis also one of, if not the only artist for the original Wacky Packages trading cards / stickers?

Drew Friedman posted a picture of Jack, alive and well, on facebook.
