I don't know $L at all from the music thing he was doing. I'd be surprised to hear he's even still doing it.

Google "Toy Lords of Chinatown." It's $L's mini movies/TV series/whatever it is. I dig it the most.

It simply may not be for everybody, however.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

      No.

They are marketing it to those who identify with it.

Not everything Mego Like is about us. Nor should it be.

No, this is Castaway attempting to get outside the usual Mego audience. Great idea and it looks like its putting the Kickstarter over the top.

That's what it's all about. They're just a different facet of fandom.

It's a great marketing plan, inject the art toy crowd into the mix. Well done.

Exactly, Brian. And $L is a Mego fan.

Yup. Love the art toy movement. Really planning on breaking into the field myself at some point.

But that can have mixed results; especially if it moves the style.... which has already moved from "toy" to "collectible".... into the "expensive piece d'art."

....'course even THAT is a mixed blessing too. If the hobby went that way it'd be FANTASTIC for the customizers out there.

The bodies will never be expensive. What you make with them is what can drive prices.

Plus, the art toy thing has been around since the late 80s. It ain't going anywhere, nor will it alter the landscape.

Nah, first I think that is pretty unlikely and secondly, the only thing that would occur is a raised demand for materials. The art toy movement has it's own players, product and consumers, I doubt many of us in Megoville would really notice or care that we're missing out on such things.

Custom Batmen will still be readily available, if one of our ilk were to get some sort of Superstar $tatus (vis-a-vis Flatt), there are many of equal talent waiting in the wings these days who will work for less.

That Sucklord bump in the middle was smart cause they already had our money, that announcement brought in people who call it "May-go".

While I usually stay positive and look for good in all people and things, this has opened my eyes alot. I like to think nobody would do that here, but I felt like it was worth the mention, and that I think most folks would think that to be a pretty lowdown thing to do. Sorry if it came out harsh.

I have already seen some pretty pathetic displays of sour grapes in regards to this campaign, but the best response to such petty childishness is success. And you have achieved it.

I applaud you for being the bigger man (at least in a figurative sense), but the little barbs and jibes really stick in my craw, and if said person was actively attempting to damage these efforts, that's pretty low.

Suffice it to say, it solidified my loyalty to you. I don't care for those seeking to create drama with something that is supposed to be fun. Nor will I associate with them, or those who would defend such cowardice.it is shameful that someone would attempt to divide us, when we are united by a common interest.
