I have a confession... I never owned any 8" MEGO figures, or any 8" figures at all. I used to have Action Jackson clothing and accessories for my favorite toys, but they weren't actually humans or MEGO figures. They were oily jigglers, manufactured between 1967 (Walt Disney) and 1972 (Imperial Toy Company). They ranged from bears to wiggly monsters to rubber gorillas. My Dad got us an Action Jackson treehouse back in 1971 or 1972. I have a lot of happy memories of those. But time marched on, and eventually the toys were abandoned in favor of rock groups like Kiss, 45 RPM records and LPs. I had to "grow up", hah hah hah.
I've been rebuilding my collection and replacing my jigglers, thanks to ebay. Just a few days ago, I was really surprised to find a real deal on Action Jackson stuff. The price was too irresistible... factoring in inflation, the AJ stuff sold for the same price today that it would have sold for in 1974! I just had to have it!
They arrived today. 6 boxes of minty-fresh, stored-in-a-warehouse-for-40-years awesomeness. I never thought I'd have my hands on genuine MEGO Action Jackson stuff again.
Watch as the various toy factions examine the windfall:

(Yes, I have a few Beanie Babies too. They are contemplating whether they can fit in MEGO clothing. Notice the monsters in German uniforms. When my brother and I got into "Hogan's Heroes" the monsters had to join the German army. Then afterwards, when the "Planet of the Apes" TV show and movies were big, they joined Mendez and became mutants and fought against the Apes).
The Baloo bears are actually not to far off from MEGO scale. Once I get another bear, I'll crack open one of these AJ packages and re-tailor the uniform to fit.

This will all be a lot of fun, like 1971 all over again. Except this time, I have MONEY!
