Yeah but you would already know what you want and could go straight to that section on the site rather than re-type anything. How is someone that's never been there supposed to know that if he's looking for a communicator, he's supposed to type in "shaver"? Something closer to the item would be preferable. "Space two-way radio"?

the problem with sharing that information is that, with the ease of being anonymous behind the internet, Dr. Mego does not know who anyone really is. Is this person someone who truely wants something, or is this person just a plant by one of the major companies to try and trip him up and nail him with another Cease and Desist letter, or, even worse, shut him down.
You can ask anyone on this board about C & D letters. There are some who sell repro or custom items here that went underground because of it, some who have very restricted access to their sites because of it, and some who stopped altogether. Dr. Mego has done his best to try to stay as visible as possible while, at the same time, walking the fine line between offering a service and facing copyright infringement proceedings.
That is one of the reasons why this site is here. One question asked and you get an answer on how to navigate this area.
Please do not be too hard on Dr. Mego. I know him personally and can vouch for him 100%. He makes almost no money off of his repros, in the end, and has put up with more crap and namecalling than most people would be willing to even think about. His drive to continue his service has finally led to the EMCE/Diamond retro lines, something that we here on the site have been talking about wanting forever, but it was his willingness to slave at this for the last 15 + years that brought it about. You got to give the guy credit, and I ask that you also give him some slack.

I did not realize that was the actual issue at hand. I had thought that perhaps it may have just been an over sight on the website or something. Your response would explain to me why some of the other links for different sites are by invitation only more or less. Personally I like Dr. Mego although I have never met him I am sure that he is a real cool guy. I also like all of the great stuff that he is doing for the Mego community. Thank you for shining some light on the subject.

        Hey,
Many moons ago they were listed correctly - phaser and tri-corder. Then he got the first C&D letter. I believe he temporarily tried to call them space gun or something like that, and he was slapped with another because it was still too close and therefore copyright infringement. He eventually had to go to bizarre names to get them off of his back.
Many of his heads have weird names as well - you can see who they are, but he cannot call them that due to C&D's

I originally did find or rather run across those accessories by browsing through the store. I really was not even looking for them at the time. As far as doing an actual search in the search engine I can see where you would have a valid point from a new client perspective.

I have never typed a thing looking for anything, no need to, just go straight to the sections and look at pics and see if it looks like what your looking for and buy it.
I found everything in that place I ever wanted by just looking at each section under appropriot sections.

Nothing too hard to find about it, it's not rocket science, just open a section that looks like what you need and look.
