The Super Hero Shop is now open

    * * The Mego Museum is proud to unveil thesuperheroshop.com, an online tribute site to the legendary Heroes World stores. Before the internet, 70s kids got the majority of toy news from Department store wishbooks and TV. However, for a child who loved Superheroes there was no better check list than the many ads and catalogs produced by New Jersey based comic book chain Heroes World. Thesuperheroshop.com will serve as a repository for all those ads, catalogs and any other bit of information or memorabilia relating to those days we can find. Right now we’ve got the 1976 and Fall 1977 catalogs scanned in their entirety along with a gallery of the chain’s many comic book ads. The goal of the site is predictably to collect ‘em all! * * So click on Snyderman and begin the tour! Watch for regular updates to this ever expanding site.

Thanks, Scott and I have been kicking it around for a while. Lots of fine tuning will happen in the short term.

Awesome! Heroe's World goes hand in hand with childhood joy. Those ads intrigued me to no end as a kid. So many things to ask for!!!

That is so cool, I remember have a few of those catalogs back in the day. Recently I was able to download a cbr copy of The Super-Hero Merchandise Catalog from '76 and it brought back a lot on memories.

I think this is a groovy thing, but since I never had super hero action figures as a kid, I can't share the nostalgia. But this is an awesome thing to you guys who are!

Very nice! Any chance we'll ever see some actual photos of their store in Jersey?

Yep! I've got a small handful and hopefully more will filter in.

Noticed the buggy Brian got at the Meet in one of the comic ads. That's always cool.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I'm shocked that toy is on the cover to be honest. It's ridiculously rare.

Definitely a huge part of this Philly kid's action figure years. I remember being crushed that they didn't pick my suggestion for naming their mascot. I mean Snyderman?!?!? My kids self knew the fix was in from the start.

But I was wondering if there are any Snyderman customs left over
