Mego that you own that you intended NEVER to collect...

We all start by collecting what we love best or are most nostalgic for.

And if you keep at it long enough, you start getting things that you thought were sort of stupid.

For me, it was a 8" Spider-Car. Even as a kid, I thought it was just the dumbest thing ever--why would Spider-Man need a dune-buggy?

But, I was down to needing it, the Wayne Foundation, & the Secret Identities for my WGSH set, and a chance arose to nab a minty loose car at a good price. It was serendipity--I even had a replacement web saved since 1978 from my 12-inch Spidey!

Now, I still think it's weird but I love it.

What do you own that you thought was a Mego mis-fire?
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I only collect MEGO trek and WGSH.

I never intended to collect vehicles but I got a good deal on a Batmobile. I sold it at the Meet.

And spent the proceeds on a MIB Batmobile.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

A bunch of my boxed and carded WGSH. I was originally only intending on getting certain ones and one example of the each of the five cart arts. Once I started buidling up my boxed figures I realized it was feasible for me to own a set and now have seven to go. Always loved carded as that's what I remember most from childhood, and seeing the awesome collections of others wore me down. I shouldn't be surprised since WGSH is one of my all-time favorites so I'm doing whatever I can to keep it going within reason.

I was briefly in a Wizard of Oz phase and I still have two boxed Munchkins (what was I thinking, I wouldn't have wanted these when I was a kid!). I got them for a really good price though, so I'll eventually throw them on ebay and should be able to make a good profit at least. Pre-internet, these guys were really rare and pretty expensive.

Well I was only going to collect the" trek" line, then noticed the" POTA" which I couldnt resist, but that was all I had planned. Now Im nearly there, having collected every line apart from "dinah", I just basically fell in love.

The 12 inch Batman (non magnetic) had never really interested me. Then one day I decided it had to be part of my collection while it was still considered a common piece.

In all honesty, about 75% of my collection. I really thought I would only collect, and for the first few years I did only collect, loose heroes. I came across a really good deal on 19 carded heroes and its been a glorious downward spiral since.
                        WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

Complete and clean 7-fig POTA CIPSA line (with variants).

It took supernatural events for this to occur… eBay shenanigans, Broomhilda plasti-cash, cryptic dealing from towns far South of the border, my saucer being filled on the West coast, an unfortunate weather event on the East coast, real generosity, and some restoration work. Damn I'm thankful and they look amazing together. Only here in the MM will you find the support to drive you into a new apeventures!

Now back to the quest to find the elusive and highly rumored 8th… where are you, Juarez?… Oaxaca?… Duranjo? Come out, come out little chimptrickster!

@Confessional, that was a beautiful post!!! Such craft! Appreciated by me, indeed.

Do I know of the 8th? I might have forgotten or never been hipped.
