    The best 8" WGSH figure?

I'm wondering, what do you consider "the best" WGSH figure, the pinnacle of Mego design & production?

I love Green Arrow, & was going to choose him--great sculpt, suit & accessories. But he has some recycling, & the quiver design is a little flawed.

So...Thor: Rooted hair, unique accessories, good sculpt, chrome detailing, vinyl appliques. To me, Thor is Mego at its best.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

This gets to be a heated debate, because do you compare to today's standards, late 1970s, or early 70s. Of course, everyone's view is subjective, too. To me the best would be RM Robin and RC Batman, because they were the original concept, so to speak. To take the clothing line idea from AJ and adapt it for a Superhero to me is toy concept brilliance.
Then I also have to agree that in terms of later Mego, Thor is a winner, too.
    It's all good!

Thor is a good choice, but my favorite is Robin. Despite the oven mitts, his costume seemed the most accurate. He had unique shoes, and his tunic was always cool. He looked cooler than Batman did to me as a kid.

I will always stand by Green Arrow as the best IMO. There is something special about him with the hat, quiver and bow accessories that just separates him from the others. I will give Thor, Iron Man, and Conan some similar consideration.
RC Batman would be my second all around

Thor and Conan are later releases with the "deluxe" treatment. Green Arrow also benefited from being a later release, and his headsculpt is fantastic (although based on the previously released Long John Silver).

The Joker is very underrated, I think, and Mr. Fantastic has a great headsculpt.

The Removable Cowl Batman works so well, even if the Bruce Wayne head is a little "flat".

          I can't decide!!!

Iron Man and Thor. They have lots of accessories, and look awesome. Only Iron Man's (too) short sleeves make him lose points, and Thor loses a point for his wobbly helmet.

Great question. Unfortunately for me it becomes two different worlds of thought. The first being which figures hold that special moment as a kid. And of course the second being what I considered to be a good design looking back after I've grown up.

As a kid my best of the best are RC Batman and Spiderman. Both are examples of dreams coming to life. Seeing RC Batman and Robin figures on a spin rack at KMart was literally like turning a page in my childhood. It started a trend in collecting that has not ceased to this day. Spiderman was another miracle because I had spent the first part of my young life watching the '67 Spiderman cartoon without any action figures to play with. So being to get that AND have it bought by my dad makes him a life time treasure.

As far as overall design looking back, I would probably have to go with Green Arrow. He seem to be the most thought out of all of them. Iron man is a close second, but he misses the top prize because of the lack of execution on the head sculpt. It truly looked like it was intended to be someone else. Probably Dr. Doom as legend suggests.

Having said all that I will add that I think Paul and company trumped Mego's best design when they released the RA Green Arrow. They fixed the design flaw with the quiver, but retained that really nice head sculpt, while dialing back the size of his goatee. Overall a rousing success. So props to everyone involved in this figure. They brought their A game and knocked that one out of the park.

I would have to say Green Gobin
The detail on his face is amazing, and the paint and colors untouched by any other from the hero line
He was the first to get different boots, and look how cool they are.
The brown bag what kid didn't imagine pumpkin bombs being pulled from it and thrown at Spidey
The suit with the scales and sewn on belt and cuffs just looks perfect to me
Yeah he has to walk to commit his crimes because his glider was for got about, but thanks to the F/C line that problem fixed itself some 20 plus years later
Yeah Green Goblin gets my vote, sorry Spidey your my fav, but he's the best

Just about every Wave 3 figure is special--I actually like Iron Man's head sculpt but those 3/4 sleeves Mego started using turn me off. That wave really made an impression on me as a kid--I had them all.

Well, I didn't have a Superhero figure as a kid, and the only ones I really knew were from cartoons and TV shows. But since Batman has always been my favorite crime fighter, I think I have to pick him. Not only b/c he's been my fave since the 60s Batman series, but b/c every kid that comes over here, wants to play w/ him. It doesn't matter that he's not the Dark Knight, dressed in black, avenging angel kinda guy that they're used to. He's Batman. They know he'll defeat the bad guys, like Joker and Riddler. They know he rides around in a Batmobile. They know he's one of the most recognizable characters both past and present, and that's what makes him special.

Caped Crusader, you've got my vote.

RC Batman for the Type1.T2 is a toss up for me between Thor and Conan.
