...I just recently sold a loose and mint CAH Shazam on eBay. I had 3 of them at one point and decided - why be a hog - sold one last year and then the other extra one last month. Like many of us, I really hated to part with it as petty as it sounds. I had been apart from some of these toys for a good 20 yrs. and now that I had them back - it felt unsettling to let them go again. Yep - even if I have multiples.
Well - hope this story inspires some of you - even if only to remember how it felt like the first time you got one back. The guy I ended up selling to was not a Megohead. Here's his reply back to me after he received the figure:
"Hi, I got the figure and it was great! I had the whole set of the "bent knee" Comic Action Heroes when I was little, & one day I had them all in my sandbox, and the dogs chewed up every last one of them! The Captain Marvel was one of my favorites, & I have actually never seen another one (besides the one I had) in person until I opened up the box from you. It was great to see one again! I showed it to my mom & dad, they liked it too, and remembered how upset I was when my other ones got ruined. I cried and cried! Thanks again, great item!"
Wow. That little toy which was sitting in my cabinet for years - had the ability to make someone happy again. Here I was hoarding it when all it asked was to be set free to spread some more joyous memories of years gone by.
Kinda sappy? Yes. Am I a sucker for it. Indeed.
Makes me wanna sell all my stuff. Well, not all.
Anyways - some food for thought. That sometimes you sell for money but this feels so much better.
PS> The guy called them "bent-knee" heeheehee.

My stuff on facebook
hahaha kidding of course. I would never expect you to sell all of the great and wonderful Mego goodies that you have amassed over time. Atleast not all at once anyway. Sadly, There comes a time whether any of us want to or not we must let go EVEN if it is over our dead bodies.
Let us all have fun and enjoy while we can.
