    Repairing Rivets on T1 Body

Hello, I'm new here and am not sure if there's a "How To" area for repairing T1 bodies.

I have a leg with a broken knee rivet. The plastic isn't broken, the bottom part of the leg came off the rivet.

Can I use a regular rivet gun to repair it, or will that damage the plastic? If so, what size rivet should I use?

    Thanks,
    Dave

There was a guy who was fixing other rivets for other figures types. I haven't heard if he's made progress on this yet.

Is riveting limbs back together not normally done? What do most people do when a limb breaks on their T1 bodies?

you could just search for the right size rivet and use a center punch gently hammered to open the end. not sure how a rivet gun would work on it

I would just suggest picking up a mew type1 body. they should be cheap enough.

Type one bodies can be super inexpensive, and it's so much easier to find parts and restring the body, watch for type 1 WOZ figures that are maybe missing arms or hands or just look trashed (well loved) or you could ask about a replacement leg on the marketplace

To my knowledge no one has come up with an equivalent rivet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep an eye out for parts. What's tricky is that it's a POTA Cornelius, but I'm assuming the legs are the same as humans. I only have a few figures now, but I can see I'll probably end up with my own box of body parts in the near future.

The T-1 Cornelius does have the same legs as a T-1 astronaut, except for the difference(s) in color... One good thing though, since you're looking to replace the leg, you can use any color for it since it'll be covered by pants anyway...

I have heard of using a very small screw and nut. Would have to experiment to get the right size. Definitely an option to keep in mind as T1s slowly die away.
