Was there a link between Mego and Fighting Furies?

While comparing Mego Blackbeard and the Furies Captain Blood outfit, I can't help but see so many similar materials and designs used.
I was wondering: were Mego and Furies produced by the same factory?

I know that Captain Patch (clearly a Mego) found its way into the Furies line.

Maybe they possibly shared a factory but there is no real connection. Materials are shared all the time, it is what it is.

That Captain Patch was not produced by Mego, it is a copy made by a third part to sell unsold FF uniforms. It was likely made when both companies had quit the pirate biz.

Ah, always thought Patch was a rogue Mego.
But he's still 8", as compared to the 9" Furies, right?

Yeah, he's eight inches but on the same body as Captain Eagle and he's kind of cruder looking.

The Furies weren't quite 9" tall if I recall, kinda 8.5" so the outfits weren't snug but not bad.
