    Custom Hammer Horror Megos.

A guy over on the Universal Monster Army forum has made a Mego style Hammer Dracula and The Mummy.

They're for sale on his website.

    http://www.distinctivedummies.net/megostyle.html

Pretty cool stuff to look at, even if you don't want to pay the price.

75 bucks for a custom of that quality seems like a deal.

Oh, wow, jeez. I didn't even think about looking the custom forums for this.

            Now I feel dumb.

But, I agree. For the quality, and considering that they're customs, it isn't really bad at all.

            I'm still considering getting them.

I sent an e-mail to the guy who has them for sale. I'm probably gonna cave & get them. The only downside to these, is that he says he's using CTVT bodies. I'll ask him if he'll sub a Doc Mego body for a few extra bucks..... Its worth it to me... I'd LOVE to have Hammer Megos. It's probably my top pick, or one of my top picks, for a new series of Re-Megos to come out....

why would you use those bodies for a custom project you plan to sell?

Could someone please explain where I have gone wrong? I make the custom Hammer figures and there seems to be an issue with a few folk about the body I use. As I understood it there used to be issues with CTVT bodies but that the newer ones were okay. When I bandge the Mummy I contort it all sorts of positions and it returns to shape okay. If somebody could clarify exactly waht is the issue I would very much appreciate it
                  KInd thanks

All the CTVT bodies I've bought have broken, and the new ones have issues, too. Try Doc Mego next time if you want a decent base body for only a dollar more.

they are strung too tight and the plastic is brittle causeing breaks at joints, especially wrists and feet. You'd have to contact Doc Mego about bulk.

I've seen both side of this . . . . . and can't disagree with either. the first CTVT bodies sucked, everyones knows this. However, I have not seen an issue in quite some time. that being said are doc megos better? yes, hands down no question . . . . in the end you want to put a product in peoples hands that you feel good about, you can remove some of the doubt by using a better body . . . . . your workmanship is great!

there has been mention of the new monsters and Kiss having the same problems.

I'm surprised there isn't more outcry on the Monsters, everybody i know has had one fall apart. Never heard that on the KISS figures though.
