Maybe you guys can help me with this one. My wife got me this really cool carded Superman for Christmas several years ago. It's unpunched and AWESOME. The only thing is.....I've always wondered why his head/face seems to be so light in color, especially compared to his hands. He looks almsot albino. I love the fig but this has always puzzled and quite frankly bothered me. It's from 1979, any idea on it's value currently?

Zombie Superman. Mego switched plastics in their late years. Figures made with that plastic turn grey or go "zombie" as we call it. Very common and not much we can do about it. Certainly is a beautiful piece. Value - I have no idea.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSH -
cool piece. And since your wife got you such an awesome gift, you need to protect it in something better than a bag. You must have no kids or pets or your just very brave! Love that wgsh yellow packaging! I don't know value either. Zombie heads are tougher to pin down their value. Still a great piece!INEPT VINTAGE WISENHEIMER

"Zombie Head" ? Um, OK...never heard of that before. THAT's why I come here with you guys to get the info I seek. Well, like you guys said, not much can be done about the flesh tone. I only have it in plastic for a little extra shield from dust. I keep it in a top shelf glass cabinet where NO ONE can get to it ( like say,my kids ). I was wondering if this zombie look brought the value down much. Still, I guess it's a solid piece being mint on card and all. Plus, the card looks really good too. Also, his "S" is sitting comfortably where it should. Thanks fellas, I appreciate it."Play YOUR Game!"

Great Superman there. You could easily switch the head out with a non Zombie head. I have one for sale if you like for just 5 dollars plus the cost of shipping. There is also a tutorial in here about getting rid of Zombie head with Plasti Dip.005[1].JPGComment

I don't think the head will cause the value to drop on this particular piece (at least not much), since the card is so nice looking. It's really a matter of preference. Some people will buy this because of card condition and some will stay away because of the head. You also have the fabric chest sticker instead of the regular paper sticker. That helps as well.
You'll see the zombie effect on Robin, Shazam and Penguin as well. With Marvel characters it's the Fantastic Four that has it. You'll also see it in some of Megos other lines like ChiPs and the 12" Buck Rogers, Star Trek and Black Hole.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

I appreciate the offer for the other headpiece, the only thing is...I'd have NO IDEA on how to get him off the card and replaced without making a huge mess of things. It's just a bit of a distraction, that's all. The mint condition of the entire piece far outweighs it's zombie look."Play YOUR Game!"

Also guys, I wasn't sure about the "S". Couldn't really tell by looking if it's paper sticker or cloth version. Somehow, it's really hard to tell by me just looking through the bubble. Maybe you guys are more schooled and can pinpoint exactly which it is. I understand the cloth is better, right?"Play YOUR Game!"

Scott looks dead on to me. Also if it we mine, no way would i open it up just to replace the head. The card is gorgeous and the bubble looks to be very solid as well.Comment
