My Mego adventure so far ...

I joined the forum in October (a bit before Halloween). While shopping for decorations , I stumbled across the EMCE Dracula in Toys R Us and liked it so much , I dug out my old Megos from a shoebox in the closet.

    - Started with these 5: Superman, Batman, Robin, Shazam, Spider-Man. Had picked them up in 90s on eBay, (as my childhood Megos were sadly long gone)

    - I fixed them up with parts from Dr. Mego (oven mitts, a belt for Batman) and picked up a few more on eBay and from MM members: Tarzan (still needs right knife), Aquaman (I did get Dr. Mego mitts but they're not in the pic) , Hulk (repaired 3 limbs with Dr. Mego parts), Penguin (stitched together from a couple of penguins), and Capt. America (repro shield from Dr. Mego)

    - I also purchased some Mattel Retro Action and went to work moving them to T2 bodies: Did Green Lantern, Sinestro, Capt. Cold, Lex Luthor, Flash, and Green Arrow. All on Mego T2 bodies (I've picked up a stash of 'em on eBay) except Sinestro (Dr. Mego red body) and Green Arrow (Dr. Mego swivel biceps body)

    - Finally, I've added a custom Zorro (Dr. Mego parts I put on a T2 body) and a custom Iron Man (Still in progress) which is a T2 body with Morrow head, Famous Covers removeable helmet and Dr. Mego repro suit.
Also picked up more Universal Monsters: Frankenstein, WolfMan, and Mummy, to go with my Dracula.

Still have a bunch of T2 bodies and parts. I've learned to restring the T2 bodies and take what I need off the Mattel bodies, so have a few more retros I want to convert and a bunch of custom ideas.

Thanks to The ToyRoom, I also now have a "wall o' Mego boxes". Well, a small wall, anyway.

Also have gotten some clamshells and having fun designing cards . Here's a Flash and Zorro I've done (haven't printed any yet)

Oh, and I really still want a Mego Joker ... How quickly they multiply!

Newest mego wall.JPG Your collection looks awesome, here is a picture of my Mego wall. I started just like you and it has exploded in the last year. I am heavily into the customizing now.

Like that wall , Relic! Once I start putting mine in clamshells, I'll have to find a wall to do that with.

What is your method to attach em to the wall?

The cards are hung on nails. I attach transparent plastic hangers to the back of the cards. One hanger on each side. You can buy the hangers at Office Depot. They have 2 sided tape on the bottom and a knock out triangle in the top for the nail to slide through. They are super cheap. I can send you a picture of them if you like.
