One of each character. Including the Teen Titans and SIs are a personal preference.

Variations are above and beyond a "complete set."

The 24 characters originally packaged and sold as Mego's Official World's Greatest Super Heroes complimented by the 4 characters originally packaged and sold as Mego's Official World's Greatest Super Gals. I would count all variations of a specific character as one character as some people like myself may prefer one variation over another and some completists may want as many variations as they can possibly find. Since Isis and the Titans were packaged and sold differently never using the OWGSH brand I count them as separate series though they compliment the OWGSH series nicely. I personally don't count the alter egos as they were just costumes and not really sold as complete figures.

I'd consider a complete loose WGSH set one of each character - heroes, gals, villians, titans. The SIs are optional but for me are included. Variations are just icing on the cake.

I agree with ScottA and have to say, it's personal preference. If you were going for a completists definition of a complete set, then you have to take into consideration all known variations, body styles, Titans, etc...
That's a lotta action figures and a lotta money!
I'd be happy with just one of each on T2 bodies!

Never thought of the Teen Titans as part of a must have set of WGSHs because of the scale and Isis, because i don't feel any comic book connection with that. I guess if i had all the others already including SIs and variations, i would eventually add those. If your a completist though, you will always be looking for ways to extend the line, like Popys for example, they are the Japanese branch of WGSHs.

I'm sure most (including myself) do not consider the Monsters and Western heroes part of the wgsh, but the wgsh logo is on their packaging.
Common sense is not that common.

I don't either, but if one wants to include the Monsters and Western guys because of the logo, they'd also have to include the Japanese Bullmark POTA figures, because the WGSH logo is on their boxes too. It's also on some of the 12" heroes' boxes too. So it's kind of a slippery slope to base what toys are in the line on the WGSH logo's inclusion on the packaging.

Although the Mad Monsters are not based on the Marvel comic versions, i do think of them in that context because of the comics. As comic book heroes.

That's "Steelcouch" here on the MM. The gloves look MEGO and the cape & emblem are custom. The suit, body, head, boots and shorts are original Ledy. Missing a belt. -- I almost offered him some cash for it, but I have about a dozen.

I've been thinking of my collection along the lines of sets & sub-sets. WGSH's for me will be complete w/o the TT, cause they are a different scale. But i want them too. For me, they are a "Sub-Set." The S.I. are also a "Sub-Set." While I want them, WGSH set, for me, is complete without them. For me, Isis has to be in there, just cause I remember the Saturday Morning show from when I was a child. I know that has nothing to do with it, but all this is just my perception of a "complete set."

The Museum has classified them as "Legends". For me, there are 5 sub-sets of legends-Knights, Monsters, Robin Hood, Pirates & Western. 5 Sub-sets of the Legends line.
Then there's Trek, Apes, Oz, Starsky & Hutch, Walton's, etc. "Sets."

I'm getting off track, somewhat, as you mention just WGSH. So- complete for me is 1 of every figure, either T1 or T2, including Isis, but sans the subsets of TT or SI. But I want them too...
