Am I missing the fun BINs and interesting Mego stuff on Ebay? ...

It's been quite e-boring for me as a Mego buyer on ebay this fall/winter season. Maybe because I'm no longer the newbie grabbing everything I can in WGSH land. And the crazy high end stuff has always been out of range for me. I just haven't seen much interesting mid-range Mego stuff or parts or figs.

Quite a few people talk about tax return season as a great time to list because everyone is flush with money. And supposedly some sellers only sell during tax season because of said reason. I dunno. Are there specific times of the year that are good for buying and selling?

And I'm curious if members think certain time zones do better in BIN picking.

I guess it depends what kind of items you are looking for. I've actually found and bought numerous items on ebay over the past month or so that I'd really been looking for. In fact I've spent too much money there during what is normally an expensive month for the household, so I'm officially taking a break from ebay until the new year.

BINs for us have been far few and between.
Alot of $89.99 BINs for figs like HUman Torch who's bodysuit has blown out feet.
I have been doing better catching items either really late at night, or really early in the morning - a couple I paid probably right at fair market value...but not many.

There were two BINs i bust just in the past 48 hours that probably bit me, but I had to have em.

Original, complete Iron Man for $79
Black Batcycle, minty with a small exception to the right spoke holding the tire...it had been fixed, but no big deal to me. $39

Tried on a couple decent Thors - but good gawsh, people bid em up bid em up and before you know it is at $150 for an incomplete one...
The market certainly goes up and down

From my experience, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the best time of year to be an eBay buyer. People are selling stuff to get money for gifts and theres alot of great items that pop up. You can also get some great deals as alot of bidders are tapped out from the expense of gift buying, so the competition is less. I normally get some of my best deals of the year within the 2 weeks before Christmas and this years been true to form. As far as selling goes, it is slow right now. EBay is loaded with great deals and I'm not giving my stuff away so my sales dip a little bit. And again, bidders are tapped out buying gifts right now. No worries though.....January is one of the best months of the year to sell stuff. My best month of sales ever was in February '11. Best advice is to buy it cheap now!....sell it next month.
