Restoring Superman

I never had a Superman figure (always wanted one) and have a question on his cape...

Is it sewn onto his costume, or just tucked in? I always thought it was like Batman's, but appears to not be. I'm amazed at the level of detail on some of these figures!

Too bad because a lousy condition cape ruins a decent suit
