I Just Bought a FIGHTING YANK!!

    Hi Fellow Mego Fans!

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/160914728003...84.m1439.l2649

Nope, he's not the super-articulated G.I. Joe type....it's the later version that i had as a kid. Bendy arms!!!

I played with this simple plastic guy for hours! He's gonna need a spiffy 21st century uniform! If I can somehow make FIGHTING YANK look cool (this may be impossible, ha ha!!) , he may be allowed into my serious, official office!!! We can get through the work day together.

Not much Mego talk about Fighting Yank. Just wondering if anybody else has memories of this awesome action figure?

    Sincerely,
    AJ-Paratrooper

Yep. I'm a big fan of Fighting Yank! When I was a kid in the '70s I used to get the Fighting Yank sets to equip my Adventure Team GI Joes with some weapons since none were available by that time from Hasbro. I have a small assortment of vintage Fighting Yank figures and sets now in my collection and always looking to add more quality vintage pieces!

      Hey Convoy357!

Yeah, you're bringing back memories....now that I think about it, it was cool to use Fighting Yank stuff on the AT Joes and vice versa. As a kid, I didn't care about articulation, detail, etc. etc. Fighting Yank was within my budget and had some cool weapons and stuff!!!

I might get some kinda uniform from elite brigade for it when it arrives. Post some photos of your Fighting Yanks sometime. I'd like to check it out. Thanks!

Heres a link to some good Fighting Yank pics. Some of these are mine:

Why not go with a vintage outfit for your figure?

Hey Convoy, I am well aware of those photos! I've been viewing them while awaiting Fighting Yank's arrival! Very cool!

A vintage outfit....yes, the serious adult collector side of me is telling me to get an official Fighting Yank uniform or at least a vintage GI Joe uniform for this figure. If I did that, however, Fighting Yank will have to stay at home on the shelf in his vintage collectable condition because that thing is GOOFY!!! Man, my co-workers would laugh me out of the office if I set Fighting Yank on my desk in his original condition!!! ha ha!!

On the other hand, if FY (complete with non-regulation, unauthorized haircut) was decked out in this Ninja uniform, for example....it'd be another story: COWN-012-00001-00092_large.jpg

            Decisions, decisions!!!

I am undecided....a gi joe marine camo vintage uniform would look good on Fighting Yank.

The red box figures are 10", right? ....a uniform from one of those 10" Toys r us figures would work....

FY doesn't look as bad as I remembered....will post pics when he's finally outfitted.

Well your figure already has the original trousers and dog tag. If you wanted to restore him to original, you could go with a sweatshirt like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marx-1960s-F...item4abe1b398d

.......and add a pair of tall black boots and you're all set.

The redbox figure is the 12 inchy one with the early run FY stile body .

                      Fighting Yank Uniform!

While everybody else my age is getting big-screen TVs, iPods, and such.....I'll be getting a Fighting Yank uniform!!! Ha Ha! I will post pics when my FY is properly outfitted....now to just find the right uniform. The green T-shirt was a good idea but I'm leaning more toward camo or the Army uniform.....now to find one.....wait, what about this?!? ...not an official FY uniform but vintage from Cots... Where have these been hiding all this time??

I outfitted my Fighting Yank with a new gi joe repro army uniform. I bought another one and noticed they are different head sculpts!

                        See photos:

Fighting Yank looks great! That 2nd one is not a Fighting Yank.....it is a knock-off version of Fighting Yank.

Hi Guys. Here is a related question. When I was younger and knowledgeable about brands. I received what I believe was a Fighting Yank. Or at least I think it was Yank. It came in a clear bag with card stapling it shut on top. Inside was The action figure in cheap green camo outfit and floppy matching fabric hat. I also think he had a poorly cast M-14 carbine rifle. Does this description fit any of the Fighting Yank distributions types?
