always cool to spot Megos in the wild..am I an idiot? lol

I had just finished going to a toy show where everything was way over priced and most of it was modern stuff..I saw some Spocks with no tops for $25!! a klingon loose no weapon $45!! (I sold a carded one for $35 last month ) and a nice minty Robin just missing gloves for $40...all I bought were 2 mail in 90's Joes for $20 a 12" walrusman boxed for $7 and a 12" early 90's Joe Flint for $5..Yea it sucked that much

so I headed to a near by thrift shop and found this

They're in nice condition for $20, they also had a bag of Dawn dolls for $15..I have no need for these treks but I could'nt leave them there all by themselves suffocating in that bag..Maybe I can flip them for a few bucks on ebay

anyone else just buy something cause they feel bad just leaving it ? It's a sickness!!

I have done the same thing, you don't need it, really don't want it, but heck the chance to get them is to far and few between. But I can't seem to part with them once I get them home.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to pass on stuff. I probably would've snagged those.

          I usually use two criteria:

Do I want it for my collection?

And if not, can I make any money on it?

If the answer to both questions is no, then I leave it. I leave behind lots of vintage toys out in the wild.....

There's NEVER any good stuff like that here in the Oakland thrift stores. Sometimes if I'm lucky I'll see it at a flea market. But If I see something I have already, and see it cheap, it's a good thing to give to charity. Make a cool package for it and give it to Toys for Tots or another local toy drive this Christmas.

Toys 4 tots may not take them, but under priviledge kids at schools might.

I gave a whole bunch of loose vintage Star wars, gi joes, and other toys away. They play with them on recess breaks.

                They loved them!

I'm a sucker for megos in the wild too, even if I don't need them or if they're slightly overpriced. Especially if it's someone at the local flea market and it will help the vendor remember me for next time as that "gullible" mego buyer...

the value is in the joy of the find - even if you have to pay "too much" it is a good purchase.

You can never have too many trek figures. They're kinda like PEZ or potato chips can't stop at just one.
                      It's all good!

I remember I saw 6 loose complete Mego Star Trek figures with repro DM weapons, commuicators and tricorders at the Antique Mall near by my home area last 9 yrs ago. I asked the owner of the vintage Toys seller how much is for each Trek figure, he said each figure will be $50 and Lt.Uhura will be $85 that's over priced..... I bought each Trek figure every month, I lost about $150 with repro accessories!!! Later on I found in this Mego Museum and joined here then I bought some Megos with good to fair prices from our long time old MM members. I'm very happy with them and brought Megos to my new home. Next month later, I went back to the Antique Mall and I asked the same seller to lowering his other loose C-5-C-7 Mego WGSH, Mad Monsters and MIWB WOZ figures... he said "no, I want more than $40 for each loose figures and more than $200 for each C-5-C-7 MIWB WOZ". I don't get it and passed them then he've been tried to nego. with me, I ignored him and never come back there again.

                          .
