Hello to one and all,I came across a 12" magnetic Batman a couple weekends ago,$10.00,couldn't pass him up.But once I got him home his face really scared me.Wow,I mean he just looks kinda evil.Freaky looking eyes, sinister mouth, makes me wonder my there was such a fuss about Mr.myxlpx?Anyone else pick up on this?Have a great day everyone.

I remember seeing Magnetic Batman in commercials and in catalogs, but I never had one. Maybe his expression is supposed to be just "menacing"?

I dig the sinister look on the magnetic Batman. having just reread the original story, I think he wanted to be something that would frighten the criminals, and that face does it, methinks.

      $10? wow! Good score!

Great pick up. He is one of my favorite character figures. Probably the first ever Batman figure with that grimacing expression (although several others are and have been released since). Remember Batman was supposed to be, in his original incarnation, a dark brooding character, similar to what is being portrayed in the Dark Knight series. It was later that he was given more like a superman-like boyscout image ("Don't forget to brush your teeth" and such). I think the expression fits. Probably not a great choice for a kids market but it does suit him and yet another inovation brought to us by the great Mego Corporation.

I love the head sculpt of that figure. I've been on the lookout for a 12'' Magnetic Batman myself. I recently purchased a 12'' Robin, so getting the Batman seems to be a priority. Sitting him next to Robin and having the dynamic duo together in 12'' form would look cool, especially with Batman's evil face. :P

The Magnetic Batman is the first to really evoke the concurrent treatment of the character in the comic. In the 70s Batman returned to his "grim creature of the night" roots. Mego's previous Batman harkened back to the Silver Age and the TV series treatment. I wanted that Batman and Robin so bad as kid, but never got them. I now have a pretty worn pair, but I want to upgrade some day.

I just got one too and that's what I noticed right away. I got a Robin at the same time and he looks all grown up too. I thought I got mine for a good price at $45 for the pair, but you did great.

There never was a fuss over myx, the whole "scares children" thing is a myth. The only people upset about smirking Myx were DC comics.

I like the reg. 12" look on Batman better but have them both. I guess I never really thought about it but the mag. Batman is more like Batman.
