Riddler arrives after almost 7 weeks

I recently bought my first used Mego from a member in Vancouver BC. I live in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Its about 2,600 miles to Vancouver to here. The mail man just delivered the Riddler to me about half an hour ago. This Thursday would have been 7 weeks. Canada Post is slow for some reason. In the past a figure that came from California took about 3 weeks. If you buy anything from Canada do not get upset if it takes a long time to arrive. I admit 7 weeks is long but at least it did get here. Does anyone out there have a Mr. Fantastic they would want to sell? Preferably an american seller.

We have customs for things like liquor or ciggarettes, A nearly 40 year old toy should not have been held up.

        Hmmmm....

That's really weird. Normally, packages are assessed when they enter the country, and taxed at the destination.... so something from in-country shouldn't take that long. (Usually a week. Maybe.) Unless it got lost, misfiled or misplaced along the way. Canada Post is usually pretty good about those things, but accidents happen. (I had something show up six months later 'cos it got lost in the back of a truck.)

Even stuff from other countries shouldn't take that long. Packages from the US usually take a week or two for me to get them. Stuff from Japan 2-5 days, from Europe maybe 2 or 3 weeks. Packages TO other countriessometimes take a while.... stuff to the US takes up to a month, but I've been told that's 'cos it gets reassessed at each state line it crosses. Europe can be all over the map time-wise. (Japan is still pretty fast though.)

Odd. I just bought a bunch of Redline stuff on eBay and it arrived from Canada in less then a week.

Something caused a holdup for sure. I could have walked it there faster.

Using Xpresspost should only take 3days, and its trackable...I have used it many times.

Next time you go into a Postal outlet there usually is a board with prices and delivery speed.

here is an example without prices

As you see, sending as a regular parcel its suppossed only take 9days, I have never had any bad experiences with Canada post

I have tons of Canadian friends and have never had any trouble shipping. I have shipped over the border hundreds of times.

I shipped a Mego Conan scabbard to a Canadian member here about a year ago. We did a trade. I shipped the scabbard to him in Canada before he shipped me my Green Arrow part to Colorado, and his part got to me before my part got to him. I remember it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get his part. I was worried that he was gonna think I didn't send it. He & I both checked the tracking # I was given, & even after it was delivered, the tracking # showed that it hadn't even left Colorado. I know its an imperfect world, yada yada yada, but I don't know why postal services take long sometimes & not long other times. 7 weeks even for that distance is rediculous.

3-4 weeks at the outside tops.

Sounds like that scabbard was first class international which sometimes gets an acceptance scan depending on the post office and may or may not get scanned when it arrives at its destination. Priority international gets real tracking as it's scanned several times along the way.

I got my stuff from Palitoy delivered to Europe within a week. But they were Presidential Monsters, so they probably used Air Force One. Or WereForce One as they like to call it....
