Columbus toy show tomorrow

Just got back from the show. Not much in the way of Megos (WGSH). One guy had a Supergirl for $195. Looks like it had been dragged through the mud. A lot of SW and Transformers. I'm fairly new to this group. Do any of you live here in the Columbus area? -
I found a few things; I'll get a pic up later. I was annoyed by one guy selling a Batgirl for $195 (I wonder if it was the same guy as above...). He was showing me his figs and prices; I examined Batgirl to see what made her worth $195. I noticed DM on the inside of her belt and on her cape, and asked, "You know her stuff is repro, yes?" That's when I got the story about an old lady who assured him that everything was original, and took advantage of his good nature, etc.
Gotta watch out for those old ladies - they're vicious.Comment

It was fun, but there seemed to be even more Star Wars stuff than usual. I even overheard some of the Star Wars dealers complaining that there was too much Star Wars stuff there. I did manage to score a 12 Inch figure of the alien from the movie Laserblast. Can't say I've ever seen it before, but I'm a sucker for bad sci-fi movie toys. There did seem to be a ton of people there.Mortui Vivos Docent

Yeah, a bit too much Star Wars, '80s & modern for my taste. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a few tables with odd stuff that really made me want to hit an antique show. Undoubtedly, this the first toy show I ever attended where pillow shams were among the wares.Comment

I am an idiot - I have it on my calendar for 9/30. I would have loved to have grabbed some SW for Christmas. Did there happen to be a ton of the Five & Below or Ollies stuff on dealer tables? It always cracks me up when I see the Target clearance stuff from the previous two months.Comment
-
Not a ton of Ollies - actually, none that jumped out at me. A few (3-4?) folks had the 5 and Below wave, and I saw that one had them for $10 per figure, which I guess isn't crazy. I was tempted to buy a BBP Bigfoot, but the seller wouldn't come down from $25.Comment

I agree on the lack of Ollie's stuff. There was not as much lego as in the past either, especially the minifigures. Some of the "usual" dealers also seemed missing like the one big 12 inch GI Joe guy. Almost no Doctor Who stuff.Mortui Vivos Docent

I have purposely missed the last 2 of these shows for this very reason. Most of the tables are SW or GIJoe and very little of anything else. The few dealers with more vintage toys have been peddling the same exact vintage toys for over 2 years now. My wife and I were just saying that we need to try going to a different toy show now, maybe pick one that is out of state."Procrastination is the art of planning for tomorrow."Comment
