What's the most geeky/desperate thing you've done to score megos? I'll start...

Ok, so I took this old black suitcase and covered it with mego pics and i had flyers on hand when i went to the local DOLL & TEDDY BEAR SHOW (oh yes I did). But the piece de la resistance' or what have you was the sandwich board with actual figures i made and slung over my back.. I did get pretty self conscious and converted the walking sandwich board into just one side and tried to make it more like a satchel. Since I was the only guy under fifty years old there and one of the few guys there period, i didn't get too embarrassed. well, a little...

I will say this fellow mego collectors... it works.

I mocked up flyers as well, I also used to walk around with a Mego in my shirt pocket at shows. You win.

I recently allowed my mother to bribe me with 100 dollars to cut my hair. I used the money to buy a Riddler. My hair will always grow back and I scored an amazing Mego. I think thats desperate.

I think you win, Relic. I remember when ZZ Top was offered a million dollars to shave their beards for a blade commercial and they declined!

for me it was back in 1980,i went to kaybes toy store and saw a planet of the apes cornelius on card among some
superheros,it was an early one,and the only ape there,at most stores these were long gone,i didnt have any money
so i asked them to hold it,while i spent half the day selling old records and taking back bottles to get the then whopping
5.99 to buy it ,i should have just bought a thor,it would be more worth it today .although it was fun .

It was back in 1971 0r 1972. Right after I traded my Human Wolfman for a Tarzan, yes, a freakin' Tarzan, I went to work raking leaves at my nana's house to earn the cash to buy a new one. After raking the whole front and back yard for a wopping $3.00, we drove to every store but could find none. It was not untill 2002 that i picked up one on ebay for $85.

1st this was like 18 yrs ago When I was in college I called into a NY radio program and talked to the radio DJ and the therapist on the show because I’d broken up w/ my wacky girlfriend (okay okay she dumped me) and told them I had “nice guy syndrome” ROFL. All the girls in the dorm I was in at the time searched high and low for me because the DJ got me to say what school and dorm I was in. (got another date with a different girl out of it and her brothers Mego Superman).

Yikes, did the appearance of mego superman extend unnaturally the relationship? If so, then you win in my book!

I carry a naked Spock around and ask dealers at flea markets if they have anything like it. It does work

The details are foggy but it involved a white van and some duct-tape.

                      BTW, that was a lie.
