Safest way to clean old Megos?

I'm new here, and was looking for info on cleaning Megos in the FAQs, and came up empty.

I just grabbed a bunch of old Megos (all in varying condition), and some could use a cleaning. What are the safest detergents to use?

Thank you in advance for your expertise?

I use dish or hand soap and an old toothbrush.

woolite works great on the outfits, and any dish soap with oxyclean for the heads and bodies. Good luck cleaning them up, be sure to share some pics of your final results.

Thanks for the help, fellows! Just got home with some OxiClean. I also have a black/red Mego Batcycle & Sidecar... unfortunately, it is cracked just past the fuel tank, and decals are missing. :( Most of a Mego Batcave is in the mix, too. I think the Batpole is missing. Just checked the Bat Signal, and it works!

Mild detergents work well for the cloth costums. I remember trying to clean some transfer spots off the heads where it was just flesh color vinyl (no painted areas), with soap and toothbrush to no success. Using a cotton swab dipped in acetone and a firm rub, the marks vanished. I quickly washed off the remaining acetone from heads with mild soap and toothbrush.
Thanks for the Oxyclean and magic sponge tips!

I got my woolite for delicates and my magic sponge and i'm about to try and wash off some very light colored stains off my minty bats and penguin figures. These stains look like light rust color.. This ought to be an interesting test because I know these figures have never been played so I'm wondering if these rust colored spots are there because these figures were maybe stored in fluctuating humidity (like basements or attic?) Its gonna be like surgery because I dont wanna mess up the dead mint batman emblem!

I just use dish soap in lukewarm water. It has worked for me for several decades now...
