Whenever I got an issue of Toy Shop, I always bought at least one item out of it (superstition I guess.) Saw an ad with a lot of misc. items, including "Bronze Batman Bust Mold - $20. Called the guy (NY number,) who gave me the dimensions and an overall description, and I told him I would take it. Got my address info (NJ,) and then asked me if I would be in the Paramus area the next evening, and would I like to meet, pay him, and take the mold home (no PayPal back then.)
Met him at Garden State Plaza, and the rest is history. Had this on display ever since, but really didn't know what it went to, always assuming it was for a puppet. Now I feel certain it was a good investment.Last edited by The Batman Professor; Aug 12, '12, 7:56 PM.sigpicSWEAR TO ME!Comment

Soooo... who's gonna start producing resin heads from these things?!??Comment

Resin is not possible - it's a one piece mold. Only vinyl or rubber would work.
I puzzled about giving this a try in the past, but always thought the better of it.sigpicSWEAR TO ME!Comment

Awesome that you have that. It would be great to get all 3 together for a group shot.

HOLY COW! I have the Batman, and I never knew what it was until now! I bought it from an ad in Toy Fare twenty five years ago. Met the guy in a mall in NJ, handed him $20 and went home with it.
They made Hulk as well as Plas, correct? So he's out there too.

That's really cool the Batman mold has now been found too.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

No way, this is so friggin cool. And for $20, just incredible.
I hope all these pics are being stored in the library?
