Ward's dwindling Mego Selection in 1980

Another addition to the rapidly expanding Mego Department Store Catalog Archive this time focusing on the sad one page Mego content in the 1980's Wards Catalog. World's Greatest Superheroes Micronauts and the Elastic Heroes all smushed together....

    Very sad indeed.

Kind of full circle really. The early WGSH were still the ones being pushed 10 years later.

And you couldn't even buy a time traveller to fit in those vehicles!

Those poses on the Elastic Heroes just seem so wrong to me.

Sad to see Mego on the decline at that time

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

              Hmmmm....

I remember around this time finding all sorts of weird clearances on figures. Micronauts, (found a bunch of mangled box ones at a local Zellers and got 'em for cheap) 8" superheroes (which we got at Shoppers Drug Mart, of all places...) even a whole schload of cheap Tomlands. (Secured during a trip to Toronto and the Yorkdale Eatons.) It was a weird time for me. I was 9; and could sort of feel that things were changing, but couldn't peg down exactly how. Seemed like a houseclearing of everything that mattered....

Add GREEN GOBLIN, HULK, BATGIRL and THE JOKER to that 8 inch WGSH display up there
and that was what I had as a kid---oh well
