    new to this forum

    hey!

I'm new to this forum, and I just wanted to pass on a couple things.
    1) I don't know if this tidbit is general knowledge, but if you have a lion rock
you probably noticed that it doesn't stand right. that's because the right
leg is (alot) longer than the left. If you replace it with a ctvt leg it corrects
    the problem.
    2) I don't know if anyone would have any info on this, but I was at a comic
show about eight years ago, and I saw a japanese batman figure from the
89 movie. It was on a type 1 body(I could tell by the hands),and it had
the mego bat emblem and belt. I couldn't tell what kind of boots it had
because it was a little high up on a shelf, but the suit looked liked a
black bodysuit with Green Arrow like cuffs. The headsculpt was really
good too, much better than the bikin. Maybe someone might want to
research it. The show was in NYC. Also, batman's name was in japanese.
    thanks!

Unbelievable. Totally predictable, yet always shocking.

Welcome, Phantom. Thanks for taking the time to register and post a sincere question. You'll find a variety of responses here at the Mego Museum, some of them completely obnoxious.

I personally prefer my Megos with the original factory flaws, but I know we have a lot of people here who are very creative with rebuilding original figures to their liking.

As to that Japanese Batman, that's new to me.

              Hi Phantom !!!

I never collected Lion Rocks myself.

There's a few collectors here who love that line and are super experts on them.

Please stick around until they chime in .......

I think you'll be very happy here on the Museum.

              It's a super-cool place

              edited to add .....
I almost forgot to welcome you aboard .....

Yeah, I was thinking it might be the Kid Biz one shown on Megolike.com, but I'm not sure... with Japanese lettering it could have been a custom or an unrelated Asian knockoff.

Well Phantom's show would be about 8 years ago.

That would put it around 1999 or 2000

I know for a fact a lot of custom items were passed off as original back in those days (before there was a Museum or Foreign-Mego http://www.foreignmego.com/ site to reference)

I've seen many customs passed off as originals first hand (at that time)

It could have been a custom.

                          wow.
To tell the truth, I really don't care one way or the other. I just thought I would pass it along because you guys are always looking for mego or mego knock-offs.I can tell you it's not a custom, because no one was selling backer cards at the time, which is what it came on. It had a picture of Michael Keaton, and it looked like any other toy that was selling at that time,it was just in japanese. Also the guy was only selling it for $45. It's not a bikin, because I have one.

                            Welcome aboard, Phantom.

I know of a Japanese mechanical Batman figure with Michael Keaton on the box, but that's probably not what you saw...
