    Accessory Check Update- Trek Again

With EMCE/Diamond/DM reissuing these Trek figures, the Trek AC section is going to be updated as quick as I can get my hands on the figures and get the work done. Spock and Andorian have just been updated (along with the parts common to other figures in the line). Hopefully it will be helpful. If I've missed anything please let me know.

          Good work Dave.

Reading through the Andorian accessory check, it looks like it's going to be very difficult to spot repros now though if the Emce parts are so accurate.

In the accessory check, Dave wrote the following:

An original will also have the number 7 imprinted on the back (the repro doesn't have this), and the repro is made of a more brittle plastic so the strap breaks easier. The EMCE version is unmarked.

Actually Dave the EMCE tricorder should have a raised 7 on the back. Like the
phaser, I wanted to make a mark to identify it as a reproduction and an X seemed
too crude. Do the original tricorders really have a 7 on them?

ER... and that's why I ask people to look it over for me. I flipped them over and must have thought I was looking at the opposite piece. DOH! It should be reversed. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it tonight. Guess that shows you how close in appearance these things really are.

Bravo Sir! Yet another great update (despite the aforementioned slip).

For those of you that don't know the history, or understand the scope of what is being done here, the idea of a resource to identify mass produced factory made Reproduction Parts has been something that nearly everyone in the hobby wanted (or even demanded) for years, yet no one was willing to step up and organize the effort.

When CTVT started up, the demands became even louder, and like so many other things, DaveMc was the one to stand up.

This is no small effort. Imagine photographing, examining, comparing and documenting every single factory made reproduction part known to the community, not to mention doing the same for every Mego part known as well. Imagine trying to keep increasing the knowledge of Mego parts while keeping up with new reproduction figures coming out all the time. Now imagine doing all of that alone.

Between running MegoMeet, CustoMego, Accessory Check and one of the best websites/resources for paint and sculpting impaired Customizers, I don't think we say it enough, but...

                Thank You DaveMc

I know this message won't reach the widest possible audience, but I wanted to leave it somewhere I know Dave would appreciate it.

Thanks Dave, this service to the community has helped me out quite a few times already. When in doubt I always look it up in the accessory check

THanks much guys. I'm glad Scott and Brian have given me an opportunity to chip in and do something for the place.

Okay, back to the topic, I came home from work and looked over the parts again. Based on what Paul said I just assumed I had the parts mixed up. Well, I didn't mix them up. The originals have a 7 printed on the back (backwards) and the EMCE's do not. The EMCE's have no markings, so I was right the first time, at least on the examples I have. I'm going to get with Paul on this to see what's what.
