Megomuseum Community Upgrade

Things are already improving. For years I've been wanting to add links to the navbar that link directly to our galleries and the library. It was always a pain, but now I can do it in just 20 seconds. ZING!

That is, for me, the single greatest addition.

Found that last night, Bryan.
Go to settings, my account, then general settings.
About 3/4 way down, chose forum skin, then at the bottom save your changes
Skin will be blue until you log in.

minor question... Is there a way to keep the skin. I have to re-select it every time I log in.

We have disabled the Friends feature. It seems to be causing more confusion than it's worth.

PM is just like the old days - Private Message
The "friend request" thing is something new...a social group sort of thing that since our community is close-nit, probably not a usable feature for most of us.

I am missing the big yellow box that let me know I had unread PMs. Is there something similar in this upgrade? I see the little blurb up top that says 'Notifications', but my brain is blocking that now as it is chock full of people who don't realize how un'friend'ly I am. and it is not bright yellow and demanding that I take care of it.

I am using 70's Child theme...
In my upper righhand area of screen, when I have a PM or "Friend Request", the notifications working changes to a red box and shows a number next to it, just like the old days of the yellow box. I'll PM ya now so you might see...

I'm having fun with the changes. I like the "mellow blue ". Really like the "notifications " drop down at the top. By the way, using my wife's Kindle Fire tonight to browse and all looks good on it.

Some things are more open for discussion than others... We're not in a hurry to clutter the place up with useless crap, but you know, we gotta do what we gotta do, . We're still working out what we can do versus what we want to do versus what we need to do.

understood and that is what I addressed in my edit. I also understand that this is an extremely openminded board when it comes to community input and that is what I am offering. I know that my suggestions can either be accepted or ignored and I am fine with either. I do appreciate the ability to voice my opinion.

I dunno, folks. Seems to me that if you ever wanna get bare bones that you just turn on mobile and chill out. I say that we just sit back and let the wizards do what they think is best and then have some constructive talk later. Social Networking and all that jazz is just where things are, and at a certain point it's necessary to upgrade software to keep up with the hardware. . . so whatever will be will be. Now just 'friend me' or I'll block you from my blog, YouTwitFace! LOL
