While I wish I could disagree with Isis being on the list, I am certain NOT wanting her as a kid. Love her now, probably because I rejected her as a kid. Love....it's a strange emotion.
My favorite part of the article is the inclusion of the Mego Museum "Patch" card! Fantastic. -
Gott in Himmell!!! I never even knew they made a freakin' LOVE BOAT set----and probably didn't need to!!! MEGO did reach a bit, eh? ::laffs::sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

Since I loved watching Shazam I did watch Isis too (even as a little boy I thought the two Joannas on the show were pretty hot). The Isis figure is well designed as is the rarer box. How Our Gang got off scot free is beyond me.Comment

The fact that the Love Boat figures were so cheesy and bad, is exactly why I had to collect them! Nothing says the 70's like the Love Boat.Comment

Well, I don't agree with Isis at all. She was big in the 70s. Just because she isn't now, doesn't mean kids didn't want her THEN. Besides, Mego covered most of Marvel and DC's then-popluar heroines. You have to remember, Marvel hadn't come up with She-Hulk and Spider-Woman yet.
The rest of the list is pretty funny though.

I'm probably on my own with this but, I think Kromedome was a brilliant play by Mego. Kenner dropped the ball in not producing a villain for 6M&Man. I'm sure Dome filled in nicely and probably at a cost low enough to be added for Christmas morning. I think they could be more clear about Fonzies Friends and not Fonzie being the oddball. Lord knows. The number of Fonzies I find in Thrift stores and such is way higher than any other Mego.Comment

Great list except Ralph and Potsie. And yes, Kromedome did fill a huge gap at the time.Comment

And I'm w/ Chris about Isis, especially since I was such a fan of the show. I didn't own the figure, but eveyone I knew watched that show on Saturday mornings, (boy or girl), and yes, she was very popular at the time, so that was a good move for Mego.
What I don't understand about Captain Dobey is why wasn't he put on a fat body?"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

I LOVED Isis as a little girl, and had no idea that Mego had made a figure of her until I was an adult.
The only super figures I ever got were Batgirl and WonderWoman.
I certainly never got Catwoman.
It seems more than a tad unfair that there were only four Supergals produced, if you don't count the Teen Titans.
Supergirl
Batgirl
WonderWoman
Isis
WE needed more Supergals!JediJaidaComment

It makes no sense Isis is on the list when totally out of scale Mxyzptlk isn't. Isis had her own show and comic. Plus she guested on Shazam and the Tarzan and the Super Seven cartoon. Isis made sense. Mxyzptlk doesn't when they had way better villian choices like Lex and Bizarro. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

I remember when I opened my Christmas presents and got Batman, Robin, the Batmobile. The villain? It was Captain Patch! At the time I know I was disappointed. I wanted Joker, Penguin or Riddler not a.. a... Pirate? Come on Mom & Dad, do you even watch Batman? They never fight pirates! Then again, he was one of the first Re-Mego figures I bought! He is filled with wonderful childhood memories (after years of therapy that is!)Comment
