Childhood Disappointment & Collecting

    I can't put it as disappointment, it's more like "childhood fascination".

    Seeing my friend's sister's Wondergirl and thinking "What else is out there I don't know about?" or pouring through my dad's toy magazines and seeing ads for "Our Gang" and "Planet of the Apes" toys I'd never encountered in real life.

    And trying to figure out how Canadians order from Heroes World when I was 7.

    Stuff like that mixed with nostalgia for what I did have fuels the engine.

      Not disappointment for me. My friend Rob had one GA boot and Thor's suit by the time I met him. I never saw either on the shelf, and always wanted them. It wasn't a disappointing or regretful memory, they were tops on my list though when I started buying. The one Mego disappointment that I remember clearly was an end rack of Cherons at Kiddie Korner. My dad refused to get me one, which bummed me out for years. However, I was never driven to find one, it was probably the last of the Treks I purchased in adulthood.
