I really don't pursue one over the other except for a few of my favorites, then I'll try and grab both.

I have both, although I vastly prefer the Type 2s, unless a Type 1 is the only way the figure or variation was released. As a kid of the late 70s, I only remember having the Type 2 figures. I remember being weirded out when I first encounterd a faded-suit Type 1Superman at a flea market in the mid 80s. I had no idea Megos ever looked like that! Years later I acquired a really nice Type 1 Superman that I got for a great price in person at a doll show I was attending from my wife. But he looks pretty scrawny next to my Type 2 Batman. I think I need both styles.
Now that I have all the WGSH (except for the Alter Egos), I'm really starting to take a hard look at how I prefer my figures. Thinking about replacing repro parts and getting Type 2 versions of most of the characters if I have them in Type 1.

It really doesn't matter to me. I do collect both, but the only reason I like T1s better is 'cos I'm able to assemble them if they fall apart."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Type Two is what I played with as a kid. I have over 70 megos and only two are type one. I like the torsos of the type twos and the poseabilty.Comment

The old timers will remember a member called T1Clegg. Cleggy was such a T1 man, that he even started putting figures that were never released on T1's, like Mr. Fantastic, on
T1 bodies. He was hard core T1. He was also a cool guy, would like to see him haunting these boards again.Comment

I grew up mainly with T2 bodies so that was always my preference. However over time now I've really started to like the T1 body especially in regards to certain characters. I had a T1 Robin for the longest time and was never satisfied with the way he looked compared to a T2. But then I got my hands on a Spidey with the T1 body and I love it! So basically now I collect both types, in hopes to eventually having them all in both styles (where applicable). I've really grown to love the stature and look of certain T1 figures!Comment

I try to get everything on T2 -- my favorite as a kid and today.
BUT
For nostalgia's sake, I've been putting together a set of the first six I had -- the ones from the WGSH logo -- on T1's, with stirrup suits and sewn on sleeves and nylon shorts, etc. Only have Aquaman left to go on that effort . . .Last edited by knight errant00; Jan 29, '08, 11:22 AM.Comment

I totally support Cleggy in his T1 facsination. I also vastly perfer the T1 look on most figures, and he hooked me up with several figures (a whole batch of nice treks) to get me started on my T1 collection. It doesn't get much better than a T1 Spidey in the circle-suit. Something a bit more realistic about them, not to mention more durable.Comment

As a kid it was all T1s but today it's either/orThink OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I prefer T2 figures simply because I grew up with them. T1's were around but not much. Collecting wise T2 loose, boxed T1's are OK. The aspects of the T1 figure I don't (such as the hands) like I can't see anyway when they are in the box.Comment
