Wow, great story, Len. It looks like a museum exhibit piece.
Put me in the "Don't Restore Him" coalition. Maybe you could run some black string to hold the pieces in place on some black cardboard and then slide it into an acrylic box case. Lay it on its back and instant part of you past.
My Father and I remember where he and I buried my mini Army figures and other small toys in a glass jar at. It's still in Rye, Texas on the Country's Side when my family had camping there. It's been 40 years, haven't time go back there and looking for my toys that buried in pretty deep by a bigger tree in the between roots. My Father said he can't going there becaue he having a bad arthritis pains on the back and hands but he will let me going back there and will using metal detector with hear phone and the hearing aids on (I'm hearing impaired) So, that'll helps me to finding where's my toys at near by trees someday, can't wait to finding my toys treasure.
Yeah, just clean the dirt off, and display him in a coffin. This story needs the "original item", not a restored one.
Don't forget to stake him through the heart, just in case...
put me in with the "Don't do it" crowd in regards to restoring it. This specimen would make a great focal point of a shadowbox to hang on the wall. With a little creativity you could also tell the story with custom made tombstones and such. That would so rock!
I agree...don't restore him. Maybe I'm in the minority but I love to see vintage figures all beat up and played with. It's a great testament to your childhood!
I vote for somehow displaying as is. Restored he's just another vintage toy. But as found there's a story. Maybe side-by-side with a mint Drac? Or just restore half (since you've got just one arm and leg anyway)?
This story is really great. I am in the fance about restoring him. Drac as is really keeps him to the story. But as a MEGO fan it would be great to see him restored. Whatever is done will be good!
wow - this thing ought to come to megomeet in an acrylic display case as a testament to the longevity of materials. lol
I've often wondered what we'd find if we dug thru an old garbage dump from the 1970s...
Wow. I just LOVE that story! I did that once with a Frankenstein Jiggler. But I buried him into this deep hole by the root system of one of our trees. Unfortunately the tree was cut down and dug out. By the time I thought about that, it was too late and he was gone. Or so I think...
