Not a great start to the hunt

Despite the fact that Toronto isn't having a big toy show this spring (which SUCKS) I was excited about this Saturday's big nostalgia show at the Markham fairgrounds.

I loaded the family up early in the day and we were greeted by..... thousands of Tamils who barely spoke english and didn't know anything about the nostalgia show CAUSE IT WAS CANCELLED. Ugh, they didn't even put a message on their freaking phone line about and were still passing out flyers last month. jerks.

The next day, I noticed there was an antique show an hour away, it was a gloomy out so we made the trek. A whole arena full of boring ol' furniture and jewellry. My son made a comment "Dad I think you're the youngest guy in the building". Lunch bag let down.

Just before we headed home, I googled antique malls and found this monster antique mall 20 minutes away.

It was a real treat to find this place, it was full of neat stuff and I even had my first Mego in the Wild sighting:



Not much but it's the best i got right now...

Nah it ended on a high note, we found a new place to visit in that part of the Province. Cambridge occasionally has toy shows, which I'll now probably check out.

What made my day (and this is incredibly lame) was finding shoes in my size next door at the outlet mall. I'm a 15 Wide and never in my life had the pleasure of saying "Oh no, this size is too big for me".

I haven't seen a Mego in the wild since the 90s and the last ones I saw were Dukes of Hazard at Kaybee.

I've seen a crapy Mego T-1 Cornelius with broken elastic string and it's missing moccasins and the clothes are very dirty, I noticed it's price tag showed $50.00. I asked the owner of Antique Mall to see if he can offered it for $10, he said no... he still wants $50 then I pass it, DUH!!
