New Member, Possibly Over asked Question...

Mego Meet is coming and how I wish I could go. I live in the Pacific Northwest so Wheeling West Virginia is pretty far. I suppose wondering if they'll have mego meet in a different geographical setting is like wondering (insert silly analogy here). And will early June always be the time frame for mego meets? (summer vacation out here doesn't start till late June). God knows I'm not complaining, at least there is one to envy attending...
I suspect the vast majority of mego collectors are on the east coast and parts of the mid west, mego collectors between Portland and Seattle are seemingly as rare as spotted owls here (unfunny regional humor, sorry).
A small goal of mine is to befriend someone with access to free airline tickets and then create Win A Trip To Mego Meet 2013/2014. Entries open only to Mego Museum members, pity essay required and a note of clearance from their significant other. This is not so much a thread as it is a tangled hairball...

Welcome to MM. There are several members in different parts of the country who have their own mini Mego Meets wherever they happen to live. We had one here in Oakland a couple of years ago, and it was a blast! I think KennerMike lives in Seattle, and I think he may have had a couple. Stick around long enough and you'll make some friends here.

Welcome! Someone can correct me if I'm getting the details wrong, but my understanding is that the "official" Mego Meet is based in Wheeling because of the "free" venue... the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum (admission/registration goes directly to the Toy and Train Museum correct?). It makes organization much easier than any other locale/venue. Plus... TOY MUSEUM!

I've only been to two thus far after years of wanting to go, and it was such a positive experience that now I wouldn't think twice about flying in for it every year if I wasn't within driving distance.

                  i'm a frayed knot.

nice to meecha mike. There are plenty of megoers up there in the pacNW. If you search a bit you can find ref. to several mini meets in the area and several fairly vocal members who live thereabouts.

welcome to the muz btw and have a GOOD time.

                    Welcome!

I live relatively close to WV, but haven't made it out to MM, yet. The good news is that you can live vicariously through all the reports coming into the boards that weekend.
                    It's all good!
