I've been reading like crazy to find answers to the numerous questions I have. Trying to bone up on my Mego history. Really like all the info available here and on the Mego Museum site.
Hey someone finally thats close to me on the Forums. Glad to have ya. Im in Fowler which is 10 minutes from Fresno.
My name is Nick I have been lurking on this forum for a long time but never took the plunge till today,As a kid a hand me down cornelius, spiderman and a generic ninja on an LJN body kept me very well occupied-in the 1990's I bought a loose spidey then some star trek megos from my local comic shop(silver age comics in astoria new york-The best for vintage comic collectors) and then discovered the doc mego site(God bless that man!) thanks to toyshop magazine(R.I.P)eventually running into this site which has provided me with many years of enjoyment.my hobbies are reading comics(The savage dragon, invincible, the walking dead, the phantom, captain action and alot of marvel and a few DC books)watching movies(horror and sci-fi) and collecting toys I dabble in customs but nothing like the most skilled artists on this board.
Hi. I'm new here. The new DC Retro Action Heroes reminded me how much I loved my Mego WGSH figures as a kid. I think I had 8 of them in various states of dismemberment after years of battling each other. I love that that style of figure is being made again. Maybe Marvel will get in on the act too and I can regain my collection without selling organs (my Gabriel Lone Ranger & Tonto were costly enough). What interested me more, though, looking at these forums, is the availability of parts and pieces to customize Mego style figures. I have become a fan of several Golden Age heroes that never had figures that would make awesome figures. (And I noticed some people have already made some of them.) I've already started a list of figures I want to build.
Hey, everybody. My name's Rich and I'm thrilled to be a part of this community. I have browsed through in the past, but the wealth of info and fandom has inspired me become a participating member. I design the magazine Back Issue for TwoMorrows Publications, so naturally I'm completely abuzz about the new WGSH figures (don't call 'em dolls!)!!!
I look forward to jawing with everybody about new releases/rereleases, and I just got hooked on the Mego Museum cards!!! I never got an Iron Man as a child, and I guess I've been too cheap to ever acquire one on eBay, so here's to hoping the Marvel WGSH come out real soon!!!
