Hey Chris!
Lots and lots of helpful folks here and some of the best 8" customizers in the world!
Have fun, and please link us to your movie if you can!
Thanks to everyone for the welcoming! Megomauler, you're right the customs here are simply INCREDIBLE! Filming is done and the project is now in the post-production stage but as soon as it's finished I'll be posting links.
Thanks Again.
I am a new user,i joined because i like the Mego toys,i'm 11,and i never had one,but i like them,and would like to collect them,if i ever get one Mego,i will not sell it,and i'm very smart,and can't be fooled easily,in fact,i think i won't sell anything,ever,i like role-play too,so,if i ever get Megos,i'll actualy play with them,and the forums seem to be a great Mego pile,a big,endless pile.
Well, hope to talk to you sometime.
I'm not a real Mego collector like you folks here , having pretty much abandoned Megos after the Planet of the Apes back in the '70's .
I had a brief relapse when drawing for AC Comics and Castaway produced Fighting Yank and Black Terror as Mego styled action figures .
I joined the Mego Museum simply because of lepage's " Schlitzie the Pinhead " custom , although my best buddy shellhead is an avid MegoMan and I really enjoy seeing his collection .
I just recently picked up the new Wonder Woman Mego , primarily because I have custom plans for her but also due to the new female figure body which is very close to the action girl bodies I waste most of my time with - 1/6 scale Evas and Alphas .
Compared to 1/6 scale , the 1/9 Mego figs are certainly a whole lot friendlier when it comes to space , so who knows what the future will bring ?
I am enjoying the resurgence of these figures . Ahhh, nostalgia !
Out by sixteen or dead in the scene , together forever .

You know what? I can already tell that I don't like you. And I'm probably not gonna like you no matter how many pull-ups or push-ups you do. All right, anybody who wants to pick on anybody in class, aim for him, 'cause I'm not watchin'. -Kenny Powers
I am new here, as I recently attended the MegoMeet in Wheeling WV this past weekend. The meet was O.K. but I feel a $20.00 fee to go and browse toys was a little much, regardless of the disclaimer SOMEBODY IS MAKING A PROFIT. I was hoping to find some vintage Star Trek, as that is my collecting forte' but most items were repos or custom, I did try to trade 2 vintage Mego's( Cmdr Keonig and Isis) for a vintage Andorian but the guy tried to rip me off on the trade so it did not happen ($35.00 for each). BUT on a positive note there were some COOL items available and great talent was showcased , I did make a sucess at it, I purchased a vintage STTMP Spock for $20.00, a repo Romulan( What a GREAT looking figure), a vintage Greedo for $2.00 and a whole handful of ST accesories for $2.00( Dr. Mego would have charged $60.00 for what I recieved). Bottom line is I will be back next year because now I know what type of items are available.
