Burgundy Soldier Ape tunic has inner variant red cloth!

I received the Burgundy tunic with it's original pants from mail today that I bought them from our member Den82.

I noticed it has red cloth in the center of the collar then I opened the snaps to see, it has a variant red cloth that made from an original Mego Star Trek Klingon!

That was my first time see that, how rare is it?

More larger pics, can't post many here. check it out:

I have one like that too Pat. His gloves are also red on the inside. Sometimes Kliingon material was used for the soldier ape tunic.

Believe it or not I was just looking at a Klingon tunic last night thinking that this was the same type of material used to make the maroon ape tunic. Is that Dejavu or what?

Yeah, that happened when the cloth materials ran out so, they used Klingon's cloth to replaced for the next Burgundy Soldier Ape.

They're mixed with Klingon/Soldier Ape, modified?

I have done that too. I need some gloves for my burgundy soldier ape. Was going to try and have T make me a pair from a Klingon tunic. Unfortunately the two materials didn't match very well.

That is a real bummer that they did not match up. Had it worked that would have been an excellent source of glove material. There are a ton of Klingons out there for sure. It would have been great to finally have found a use for them.

I would imagine that it would be possible to find a match at some point given the number of different variations of that material they used over time. Unfortunately mine didn't match up. And i'm not sure i want to start buying up every Klingon tunic just to find a match for a pair of gloves that would be repro anyway .
