I just listened to the whole part 1 interview with Mark...awesome...

Now I know for sure Brian is Canadian...especially when he said, "Funny, eh?"

If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Same here (although Mark and I are pretty close in age) I remember seeing them in Dominion Playworld and not liking them. Funny how it was hard to spread the word back then..

Thanks for the great podcast guys! Very good to hear from Mark Huckabone. I remember pestering him (and his mother!) to pick up one of my holy grails for me: a Marvel Thor Vacuform flyer. Mark was finally able to obtain up for me -MIB I might add-- but the entire experience took over a year. I've never seen one offered on eBay. If you're reading this Mark, thanks again.

I still remember Mark's mother coming in the room and calling him a "bean-head" while I was talking to him on the phone one night! Ah, those crazy Toy Shop years. Blind phone "auctions," reading tiny print, filing mail fraud reports with the US Postal Service...just kidding. That only happened 4 or 5 times.

I must admit I got pretty quiet during the AFA talk, Mark likes it, I don't.

I could tell. "Uncirculated" may be a big deal in SW collecting, but I don't think there is much interest in the Mego collecting world. Sure, I'll get excited about a nice, minty box, but I wouldn't pay a premium for an identical minty box just because it's "uncirculated". It's not like it's untouched by human hands, I'm sure a bunch of people handled a boxed Mego before it finally went into a shipping case.

Perfect timing, my podcast Q was getting low. My earliest recollection of Mego being pricier were also the early 90's. I had Batman and Superman briefly both costing me about $100 each at the time. Definitely remember the FF on closeout at Child World. but at that point in my childhood I had mostly moved from Megos.

Excellent interview. Wow, loved the mention of Circus World, my all time favorite toy store as a kid.
